Why does Northern/Western European food have such a bad reputation? What makes white people food so bad?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with rotten shark flesh, once you've expunged it of ammonia and cadaverine and putrescine.
>Portugal
>Toxic food
Lmao
I like a lot of Portuguese food, but bacalhau is pretty weird.
What the fuck you mean Bacalhau is weird? It's best portuguese cuisine has to offer for holy Maria's sake! Have you had bolinho de bacalhau before? It's amazing!
Portugal exist to make Mississippi feel better.
Portugal is in the literally and aesthetically tasteless circles. You are colourblind.
Portuguese food: baccalà boiled in milk, cured sausage, fish put on bare coals to overcook and burn. That’s literally all Portuguese food
Yeah, I agree. The graph is pretty ridiculous.
>toxtugal
It's the fault of crazy yuppie health-freaks from the 80s and 90s and their belief that the Mediterranean diet (which is basically lots of carbs and cured meat) makes you live longer and that red meat consumption is bad.
>and that red meat consumption is bad.
I’m sure it’s a complete coincidence that the Anglosphere is the king of beef preparation. This homosexual health food shit definitely isn’t rebranded xenophilia.
Mediterranean diet is mostly a lot of legumes, fish and oil anon.
too cold for anything tasty to grow. They traded for what they could get but when you get flavor in the form of foreign trade goods your cuisine is bound to suck compared to places that just have spices (or even just variety) in abundance.
shitalians stole from china
Prove: your ass
Italians don't eat traditional food anymore
it's all pizza and pasta junkfood
>sheep kidney sausage
>sheep head jelly
>fermented sheep testicle jelly
>fermented kidney sausage
>rotten shark
>sheep heads
We don't really eat any of this since the 20's
I have an Icelandic friend who told me he ate horse with his family like 3 months ago
>French cuisine
>Caution is advised
I wasn’t impressed with French cuisine to be quite honest with you. I thought it was overwrought, overcomplicated, and too fixated on presentation. I loved visiting France for many reasons but was disappointed by the food scene and thought Italy was indisputably superior place when it came to food
I agree, but french cuisine has HEAVLIY influenced most cuisines
French food in the countryside is pretty good, but in Paris the bad stereotypes do apply
eating snails and frogs is barely a step above eating bugs, french have nice bread and dessert but the rest is vile
>eating frogs and snails
You mean like everyone else on the Mediterranean? Frogs aren't even really popular in France, whereas they are extremely popular in parts of Italy, such as Piedmont.
1: spices expensive
2: longstanding industrialization and urbanization
3: aristocrats could afford good food but the plebs were eating industrially preserved cheap food and when they started to gain wealth in the postwar era they continued on
They can be compared to African Americans who had a substantial proportion of rural tobacco farmers and cotton pickers until the 1950s. At which point they were thrust into America's consumer economy and could afford dried spices imported from across the world, cooking oil and so on. They like fried food. Even so in the ghetto they picked up some bad habits like using dish soap to wash chicken. Maybe they like it lemon fresh, I don't know.
At least they clean their chicken other than Germs who willing to eat it raw.
I dunno about soap, but washing meat tends to originate in hot climates pre-refrigeration. If you have fresh raw meat sitting out the outside is going to start smelling bad and develop a slimy texture. Meat was washed to get rid of this smell and slime.
" Fake pasta"
Literally the real pasta
As a Finn, I’d think that it’s a combo of 3 factors: first, the shitty environment in regards of growing food and especially spices, which made it necessary to hyperfocus on nutritional values and preservation of the food. Secondly, those realities left an imprint on the collective consciousness of people that made them think about food in almost purely utilitarian sense even after it wasn’t necessary. Third, as a historically poor country, for most of history there just wasn’t really a big enough upper class that could have given a proper base for any kind of proper culinary culture.
I mean, I come from a pretty rural town in northern Finland, and when I look at the people in the generation of my parents (born in 50’s), most of them completely lack any enthusiasm about food and have incredibly narrow tastes - anything new or different is usually rejected without even giving it a proper chance. Food is just something you take to stay alive, not something to really care about. And obviously, older generations are even worse, while younger generations are unsurprisingly a lot more open-minded. Basically, the historical reasons don’t exist anymore, but it takes time to get rid of the marks they left on the society generations ago.
All the renown food cultures are closer to the equator. Which makes perfect sense since obviously climate severely impacts what food is available.
>Fake Pasta
Italians literally stole pasta from chinese.
hello chang shitskin. reminder your country has never won a war.
btw Han nationalism is literally seething at their overlords. For most of its history china was controlled by foreigners
manchu chads still rule over hanoid cattle via high rank CCP positions held by ethnic cryptomanchus
NTA but dago telling a chinaman he was never good at war without a shred of awareness will never stop being funny.
We wuz romans!
drink bleach
Shitskin hands typed this.
YOU'LL FUCKING DIE
Pasta was independently invented by both Chinese and ancient Greco-Romans. In Ancient Rome pasta was mostly deep fried rather than boiled and served with honey and cheese, called lagana. Pasta was consumed continually since then until modern day, no Chinese influence on Italian pasta has ever been recorded and you get your information from an episode of muppet babies you remember as a child. No, Marco Polo didn’t “introduce” pasta to Italy. The main foreign influence was from Levantines who introduced gnocchi to Italians during the crusades, as they had conserved ancient Roman cooking techniques lost to Italians after Germanic invasions.
>Italians literally stole pasta from chinese.
>Pasta was independently invented by both Chinese and ancient Greco-Romans.
How fucking retarded do you need to be consider italian pasta and chinese noodles the same thing? They're completely different foods in every way.
Try using one to substitute for the other in any recipe featuring either, you'll spit the result right out.
>nobody could have possibly independently invented the idea of turning flour in to dough and boiling it
>Why does Northern/Western European food have such a bad reputation?
Farthest away from locations with tasty plants.
Food was scarce and growing periods short, so preservation techniques trumped flavor most of the time.
Cuisine developed from that.
Tasty food is one of the few things people from Northern/Western Europe like about other populations so that is what is used to promote immigration.
People from other locations have few, if any, actual accomplishments, so their ancestors having lived near the native locations of tasty plants are used to promote a sense of superiority among those groups. Demeaning NW European food is their way of "evening" the achievement gap.
Cold. They don’t bother making food taste good and look pleasing. They just want something edible that keeps them full and warm.
>Best food in Europe is stolen from Asia
Really makes you think
About what?
The fact that Europe didn't have a native flightless bird that evolved to churn out eggs constantly if given food to use as a binder in pasta noodles.
The fact that Europe didn't have a native cereal grain that could be ground and use to make noodles.
Post some European foods without Asian and American influence.
Turnips
Wild mustard grass.
A few berries.
But hey feel good about having ancestors live next to better plants.
Breakfast sausage
And from Americas.
Italian food out of Naples/Sicily/Rome is shit spanish/french tier gastronomy, the real good gastronomy in Italy is that from the South/
No, Emilia-Romagna in the North has good food as well. Carbonara is the most overrated thing ever: literally pasta with eggs. LOL.
Carbonara was invented in the 50s for Americans in Rome who only eat bacon and eggs for some reason. I bet you add heavy cream to yours because you can’t cook
>Americans in Rome who only eat bacon and eggs for some reason
The reason is bacon and eggs are a common breakfast meal throughout the Anglo world. Americans are increasingly removed from their Anglo origins as they become more muttified, but this is one tradition that has held up.
>spanish/french gastronomy
>bad
imagine getting filtered this hard by your own taste buds kek
>Fake Pizza
Americans invented pizza. Real Italian pizza is just bread. After WW2 Americans introduced pizza to Italy as it is known today.
Pizza was invented by Italian immigrants to America. It's basically the same as how what we know as "Chinese" food in america is very different from cuisine in China.
Italian food is such a fucking meme. Its mostly peasant food and fast food essentially. It can be good for sure but its certainly not mind blowing compared to other country's cuisines.
As for northern Europe, I'd say a lot of things like say, haggis, seem icky to a lot of people because they're a bit off kilter with modern western Americanised cuisine, which is increasingly being influenced by fast food derived from Asia and Latin America. But really a decent haggis is fucking tasty.
>Why does Northern/Western European food have such a bad reputation? What makes white people food so bad?
Eastern European food is the worst. Only south European food is any good.
What fucking retard made this?
A bulgarian retard. Who could possibly know italian stereotypes better than somebody who has no relation with italians whatsoever after all?
>Italian cuisine is great, you have to go there!
>actually go there and 90% of the food is spaghetti bolognese and refugee kebab stands
The European food world is just a globohomo mess at this point.
>The European food world is just a globohomo mess at this point.
Maybe eating purely native European food without asian and American influnce will revitialize white race.
>mu food
Stop being fat
>start world colonisation for spices
>still has the most shitty and unspicy food in world
what did whypipol mean by this?
the european nations that actually did get into colonisation for the spices do have spicy food
northern europeans got into colonisation due to the faustian spirit
idk i quite like northern european food. sometimes you just want a simple meal
I had some lamb goulash at a Polish restaurant owned by a Hungarian couple and it was godly.
I like lasagna as much as the next guy but Italian food autism is unsufferable.
The climate is cold and the food has to be fermented/preserved, which makes it taste bad.
Pasta isn't Chinese. That myth was invented by a Canadian pasta distribution company. I am begging LULZ to actually read and research outrageous claims
India mogs Italian cuisine so bad it’s not even funny
Kek no.
Indian cuisine solely consists on using metric tons of curry and others spices on stuff.
Ignorant wog
What’s a this-a? More bland unseasoned roasted stake with no taste-a!
What’s-a this-a? More pasta with different bland sauce-a!
>take all available ingredients and work it into a slurry
>slather it on chicken or lamb
>serve on a bed of rice
>cows are holy, can’t eat those
Indian food isn’t even the best food in Asia
Sure Rajesh.
kys pajeet
“What’s in this?” “Chickpeas lentils and rice” “what about this one?” “Chickpeas and lentils, try it with rice!”
retarded map
>mogs the rest of Asia in martial arts
>mogs the rest of Asia in food culture
How do the Thai do it?
Most eastern martial arts got absolutely nuked during the late modern period by governments who didn't want active martial traditions for citizens to use to rebel against authority.
Thailand however had a string of kings who loved the everliving shit out of muay thai and pushed the sport element as much as they could afford to.
Vietnamese food is pretty good too, also not a Changoid but so is theirs.
Honestly it's both Korean and Japanese cuisine that's incredibly overrated and boring.
Japanese food can be good in a subtle understated way. Korean is an the embarrassing dishonorable C+ of Asian food.
>butter milk curds and yogurt cooked with lentils and meat
That's not food it's a heart attack.
Reminder that shitalians literally eat maggot-infested cheese and consider it a delicacy
Uncooked food
Bland food
No spices
No taste
Shut the fuck up, nagger.
Its a very bland food thats undercooked.
>undercooked tomatoes
>undercooked omelette egg
>undercooked meat
>undercooked mushroom
I'd be willing to bet that the sausage is undercooked as well
The traditional English breakfast is world-renowned for being excellent, nobody even knows or gives a fuck about what shitalians eat for breakfast. Pasta can be good, but so can a proper Sunday roast. Amerimutt naggers cope by insisting that their "soul food" cuisine is so great, when in reality it's literally just the unwanted scraps of traditional British cuisine given to them by their Scots-Irish slave masters, doused in spices to hide the fact that they're eating the intestines of pigs which once held actual pig shit.
>posts an example of food with no spices
Just prived his point
>muh spices
Black pudding and sausages have spices in them
Black pepper is like the bare minimum.
Good quality sausages like say traditional Cumberland sausages have a load of different spices in them. Retards just seem to think spice = "spicy" (i.e pungent). It doesn't.
what's wrong with runny yolks?
Absolutely nothing, they're delicious
I heard Northern Europeans invented pasta because it was the best way to store wheat and make warm soups and stews
>I heard Northern Europeans invented pasta
No you didn't.
Food is the only thing brown people genuinely feel like they have bested whypipo in, so they'll fight to maintain this meme tooth and nail because without it they literally have nothing else to fall back on in terms of "we do it better".
Indian foods are better than any other food.
Objectively speaking. There's no question about it.
ok pajeet
distance from the equator makes food worse
Well that's not true. The countries under the equator were literally eating people for the majority of their histories.
