people only remember the good stuff(not that emo was any good) rockers and greasers were iconic and cuttting edge for the 1950s when everyone else wore suits.

If you watched 50s shows on Nick at Nite, you’d be aware of this.

What do you mean it’s not remembered? If you lived through it, you would remember it. Nobody remembers it fondly because dressing like you shit your pants and wearing bright colors that attract the homeless or local gangs wasn’t the brightest idea. Kanye killed gangster rap and the bling era died. Nobody cared about 50 Cent, Twista, or Chingy once the fad died. That flashymoron fashion died with the music, but it definitely had its influence on swag.

People can be behind on fashion trends, anon. I still see people dress like it’s 2010, but I know that’s not what’s current.
But it was treated as current in my area even in 2008. Though in my local area 90s stuff was popular even in the 00s and played on the radio and people wore shoulder pads up through the mid 90s.

If you don’t know, Kanye didn’t change fashion over night. He changed music from being oriented around gangster rap to being more pop-oriented. The fashion followed.
Mosh-pits still happen, even at hip-hop concerts. There really hasn’t been that much innovation in rock. A lot of bands are just making the same music they’ve always have or adding a little electronics. There isn’t a counter-culture anymore, so there’s nothing pushing rock. It’s just boomers grifting, making barely passable music of yesterday.

You need to shut the heck up and listen to Turnstile’s 2021 album Glow On

We have more wiggers now than ever. Nearly every white girl I see is a wigger. This wasn’t the case back then.
The fad itself was highly localized, but got a disproportionately large amount of representation in media at the time. Yet another hebrew attempt at forcing a meme, like the ‘metrosexual’ thing.
because most people here were not even born yet, the late 90s and 2000s sucked in terms of fashion
But they remember emo and scene in the later 00s so they remember 00s culture.
All that shit was online, you don’t need to remember anything anymore, it’s preserved perfectly.
satire of the time from 2003
don’t reply unless you have a valid argument
not anon but that is a perfectly valid argument
They saw old pictures it online and decided to copy it, they didn’t remember it at all. judging by how people speak on here most can’t be above 18.
I know fashion from decades before I was born like the 50s or 60s from seeing it in books and TV. I’m asking why pic above isn’t remembered.

If I’m remembering correctly, swag replaced bling slowly between 2008-2010. I don’t remember the exact dates or even how to quantify that, though.
Tell me where that style came from if not from hip-hop culture.

Saw a rerun from mtv back in the day. Wiggers are so sad
Glad most teens weren’t like this but it was common
this video shows how 00s teens dressed to a t.
Hard rock, emo, pop punk, post-grunge and their off-shoots all had a huge impact on fashion back then.
Rock used to be way more popular and mosh pits.

They look like transracial freaks trolling black people lol
They were in some cases. At my school they said racist stuff all the time but acted like the rappers for fun.
Different times, comedies were actually funny back then.
The 2000s and 1970s were the worst eras for fashion ever. Just plain garbage everywhere. 2020s have been pretty decent so far
Everyone wants to forget wiggers and jugglos.
They come off as satirical racist characters or burnt out druggies who still live in 2003.
>Everyone wants to forget wiggers and jugglos.
Then explain why 90% of zoomers are wiggers.
That fashion never had hold on in my country. There were people who tried this but we called them "back alley trash"

It was pretty big in minority communities around the nation. Maybe you didn’t leave near them.
