No idea, there are so many accessible artists out there. I took the Avenged Sevenfold to Black and Death metal pipeline in high-school.

Metal doesn't filter people truly, but it does make them seethe.

Metal and metalheads still exist as a subculture, and not only that, but one who doesn't like or care about the outside world, this not only enrages people jealous that their subcultures are lesser but also people who think themselves to be "Taste makers", to have a group of people who are impenetrable to their shitty opinions and taste

I don’t care that you and your “subculture” whatever tf that means are autistic homosexuals with no taste, that’s on you, not me. It’s just you know kinda obvious like why would any normal teenager want to be a part of subculture with people in their 40s. And subcultures really should Only exist for the under 20s after that develop your own identity homosexual

What is that? Why are you guys always making shit up?

It's a term used to describe acts that rely heavily on provocative image and performance. Not a very sustainable term since it was invented back in the times of Alice Cooper, and the standards of "shocking" have been shifting ever since.

glam metal isn’t real, it’s called hair metal

They're both retroactive terms, but hair metal is an insult and glam metal is a term of characteristics

As in the actual year born? 1989, so glam and thrash were still dominant. As in what was the popular thing during my time growing up? Nu metal.

It’s funny metal died like rock really in the 2000s but sustains itself. Probably cause rock is a much more diverse genre that appeals to larger array of demographics whilst metal is just boring for most people

I love metal but the genre is better when you're younger, the older I get, metal music starts to sound sillier to me. That's why I'm starting to get into instrumental music, I started listening to Jazz Fusion because of prog metal. But about normies? They are socially pressured to listen to "normal" music

I just got into electric wizard. Only metal that's clicked with me besides black sabbath.

there's a general association of metal with metalheads, who are autistic nerds who look like they don't shower. Most people are more concerned with the aesthetics of a genre than the actual music, and metalheads taint the entire genre for normies by being gatekeepy autistic nerds
