/fashion/ is full of fatties who think their outfits will mask their ugliness. Polos are meant for handsome men like me and picrel.

You have to do a few things right to make a polo work:
    1) Weather: has to be hot out. Wearing a polo in the winter is ALWAYS wagie core, massive faux pas. In the winter/fall an OCBD/rugby shirt is always better.
    2) Colors: a wagie-tier color like navy/blue/red/maroon/grey CANNOT go with khaki/navy/black slacks like OP’s pic, literally makes you look like a McDonalds employee, especially tucked. This is probably why pink polos are popular with preps.
    3. Tuckage: some are meant to be tucked in, some can go either way. Way too many people wear polos that aren’t supposed to be tucked in untucked and it looks terrible and unproportional. You can tell by the length and it should be pretty obvious.
    4. Material: synthetic, plastic garbage will always not only look inferior to natural fibers, but it is patently wagie-core unless you’re golfing.

    counterpoint: polos are good, actually
silk blends and mesh polos are popular right now. so are I/s polos and heavier weight versions that button up in front.

      He mostly wears Sunspel, right?
I find it’s actually somewhat hard to pull off the navy pique polo and khaki pants these days without it looking like a uniform.
Looks much better/more current with white/cream trousers.

I just prefer short sleeve button ups. If it’s that hot and I’m outside, I’m wearing a fishing shirt or similar outdoor button up. If it’s not hot, I’m not wearing short sleeves.
