Why do women not like height boosters on men?
We like it, what we really mean is when a woman is very obviously wearing makeup or totally globbing it on in other words.

Some of it is projection. Men usually put effort into their looks to get something. Otherwise they'd dress like a bunch of lazy senior high school boys or college freshman. Just confortable shoes and shirts that look so so. They only dress up for job interviews or dates.
So they assume women with make up are trying to look better than they really are to trick people into thinking they are naturally more attractive than they really are, and give them stuff. Be it better treatment, better boyfriends, better jobs. They think you're putting on makeup to trick better looking men and pass them up. So they just sit alone while you're running around with a guy twice as good looking as you.
They don't realize that some women just like to put on make up like a little art project or to have fun with buds. Thats pretty alien to guys. Very few men are all going to dress very nice, get their clothes tailored, everyone get fresh haircuts, just to go have a few beers and a nice meal with friends. It happens but it is less common and they would probably skip a few things like a fresh haircut.
the second thing is that men are kind of tired of women all wanting to look like Kristen Stewart or 45 year old Angelina Jolie. A lot of women that put on makeup are all trying to look like the same 3 white women. We already like you. We like your big goofy nose and your smile and cheeks. You really dont have to look like that famous woman we don't care about.

Most women have low sexual concordance and unironicly are really bad at detecting sexual things until it is in their face. They can look at a woman with makeup used to simulate flushed cheeks after sex and only feel a happy feeling or that it is a nice shade of red and it never click that she is looking at a simulation of post coital cheeks.
If you're not aware of what sexual concordance is, give it a google. It explains a lot of the dumb shit women think and do in dating and sex. Apparently more than half of women have a really bad mental connection with their own genitals. Something like only 16% of women have a strong connection like men.

women don't see the difference between a man getting a nice shirt and putting on makeup. You go to the store and get a nice shirt and they go to the store and buy make up. You put on the shirt. They put on the make up. It is so ingrained they don't see any of it as fraud. Its just a thing they go to the store and buy and then put on.

and it really is ingrained. They get dolls as small children that have makeup printed on. Even little girls in movies they watch, have make up. All the cartoons they watch have perfect faces. As soon as they can buy magazines, they have make up ads.
Men do not have an equivalent of this. It would be like the movie industry being honest about how many male actors are on steroids. Have a magazine for the new marvel coming out and then have steroid ads in it.
It is fraud but women see it so much in life they don't see it that way. Magazines and tv treat it like a fact. Just a thing everyone does.

Here is the thing, what you are calling decent, is above average treatment. Women want to be treated better than men treat each other or anyone that isn't an attractive woman.
Women feel entitled to being treated better than everyone else. Its not about being treated decently. Its about being treated better. Without make up, women would be treated like another man. Which translates into being ignored. Because most men pay no attention to other men. Men have to flag other men down with waving arms to get noticed. Women don't want that.
I understand perfectly why women do it. I've been fat and skinny. I know the difference attractiveness makes in how people treat you. But its laughable that women frame being treated as special as "being treated decently"

Women are just accusotmed to being treated well for looking a certain way. They assume that is how life works. You put on your nice clothes and your shapewear. Your leggings that make your butt pop and your nice bra. You put on the makeup that hides the bags under your eyes and contours their nose just right. Then they go run errands and people smile at them and are nice to them. The clerk at the shop helps them more because they seem pretty.
Take all the fraud away and they get ignored for a younger woman, or a woman not exhausted from taking care of babies.
It would kill them. They would die on the inside. Going shopping and everyone ignoring them? They'd die.
Norah Vincent's self made man book is pretty eye opening on the matter. She dressed up as a man expecting to live out this power fantasy of being a man. She ended up finding out that the male experience is very cold and lonely. And part of that is men don't go to the same lengths to harness pretty privilege. Men put on their clothes and go to the shops or work. And people ignore them because they're just average.
Norah Vincent never recovered from the experience and eventually committed suicide. Finding out just how obsessed society is with women from the age of 15 to 25 broke her.

for me it's none of this
i have three points to make
1. the simplest reason is that a lot of women are shit at applying make up and only make themselves look uglier
2. some women do actually look better with make up on, but then most of the time it feels very out of place. normal people don't always try to look their best. you don't always groom and put on your best clothes before you go to school or work. it's like if you saw a guy wearing a suit and tie at the grocery store -- you'd automatically assume he's some undersocialized autist.
so, a woman wearing make up at a dance party or out on a date makes perfect sense, everyone wants to look their best at such times, but seeing a woman in make up in completely casual situations is just off. is she insecure? is she a whore? what is the point of this? actually now i'm beginning to understand the whole 'deceit' thing the other anons were talking about, it does seem extremely deceptive if they never leave their house without it.
3a. attractiveness isn't linear, it's not like the more effort you put in the more attractive you look. sometimes women look the sexiest in the morning when they're all disheveled looking, but then sometimes it really is nice to go out on a date with a woman 'at her best'.
3b. i've been in a relationship for a long time now, but as i am only human i have fantasies about more than just my gf. most of the time she looks, y'know, normal, so when she really puts effort into her looks and we go out on a date it reminds me of going out with someone for the first time. hell, sometimes i want to fuck a vampire, so she puts on all goth looking make up and even puts in prosthetic canines to really complete the look
tl;dr i like make up but a lot of women seem to think it's a part of basic grooming rather than something special and useful

This can vary with every man, but generally, when you don't wear makeup, you show the guy you're not hiding anything. That being said, plenty of guys prefer you wear makeup, so I can see why women would wear makeup not only for themselves, but also a way to humor others, as some guys do not like the way women look without makeup, which is kind of sad, but women cater to this kind of uppity attitude in men.
It doesn't look good especially if you use the British style
