not the same. Scandinavia features the cross, the other countries have enough going on in their flags to the point where the off-center emblem "fits". but the Nazi flag is so simple that to not have symmetry is bothersome.

Virtually no one agrees with this, it looks better this way and intentionally follows the style of other flags, including the previous Prussian flag. Also Japanese war flag, etc.

For the same reason they don't have an actor's face in the middle of the shot typically. Eyes are built for dividing pictures into thirds, therefore centering something important at the thid boundries makes stuff look better.
