Why did scene/00s emo subcultures largely die out?

Curious as to whether it’ll come back considering the "old is new" fashion trends of younger people. But since they’ve managed to heck up even the most basic things from 4 different decades, I doubt this.
I do know a few lifers from 2006 who still dress like it. But with a lot more subtlety these days.

I hope it never comes back. I absolute hate millennials and their shitty fashion. They need to heck off this board. They’re old and annoying.

Because they were cringe and encouraged self-destructive behavior.

Teenagers in general are cringy, it doesn’t matter what generation.

It was too flashy for it’s own good, it’s a good way to outcast yourself from everyone else. Even people with their own fashion sense find ways to blend in with the crowd and look seemless.

I do hope it makes a comeback though. I want the whole 1995-2010s aesthetic to come back.

The people who were emo grew up and moved on, there called teenage subcultures for a reason, sticking with a subculture for life isn’t the norm.

That style has an influence on zoomer fashion but they’re not going to outright copy everything 1 to 1. The trendy haircut from the past rn is the mullet anyway, not the emo swoop.

I don’t get why millennials want it to come back. What’s the logic here?

Most of you look old as shit. Wearing emo/scene fashion at your age would look incredibly creepy.

Or do you just want to gawk at younger generations wearing it? Which is even more creepy.

I don’t, most emo girls were not fit like hayley williams, most looked like shit. would much prefer punk, skinhead, and goth to come back in a big way, also teddy boys and mods. They were much cooler subcultures.

It looked like shit back then. I prefer the 90s mallgoth look.

      >Or do you just want to gawk at younger generations wearing it?
Yes, I do indeed enjoy gawking at teenage girls dressing like it was the late 90s.

It can’t come back because both emo and scene are not politically correct. Emo boys were all about being unclear about their sexuality on purpose to bait as much attention as possible; boys would kiss boys to get girls to have sex with them, pretending that they were gay but would make an exception "this one time" because "you’re not like the other girls". Now that trans is more mainstream, emos as a concept don’t stand out as much and don’t have the giga chads anymore to contrast against.

Scene can’t come back because it was about being a trashy party animal with a messy reputation that just doesn’t care. Now a days people are into being empowered by their promiscuity, but scene was about accepting you were a hoe and a heck up but not needing to be "affirmed" or "empowered" by their choices. Ke$ha is seen as problematic now.

she was visibly turned on. she probably had to change her wet panties after the show. i wouldn’t be surprised if she met with that guy afterwards and got plowed by his huge throbbing cock.

a petite woman like Hayley probably would’ve had trouble walking for days.
