Why did our public schools stop teaching

Why did our public schools stop teaching
>woodworking
>metalworking
>home/auto maintenance
>computer programming
>personal finance
>driver's ed
>cooking
>sewing
My parents combined had all of these, I went to the same school and it had none. how exactly did they convince the schoolboards to stop offering all this in place of standardized test prep and other bullshit?

yeah parents should really get mad about this

high schools should teach basic law also, police rules, contracts, how to buy a house, how to start a business, how to file a small claims suit, kids should all participate in cleaning the school too, like janitorial duties, 1 hr per week,

      >kids should all participate in cleaning the school too, like janitorial duties
Unironically how it works in China.
The kids "own" their classroom too so are responsible for keeping it clean and delegating tasks among themselves. and each teacher comes to that room to teach.
      >but muh chinks bad
This is at least in the good schools smart rich ones go to. Those are the only chinks that come to the US.

Americans could never be responsible enough to handle something like this. Every classroom has like 5 kids who aren't even responsible enough to go 3 minutes without interrupting the lecture

Yeah, what did we even learn in school? I owe my ability to read, write, and do basic math to them. Other than that, I've forgotten the rest and had to learn literally everything about the world by myself. Whoops!

Schools aren’t made to teach anymore. They’re designed to indoctrinate children to think in a very specific way. If a student’s time is used up learning real skills, then the student will realize how to actually progress in life and how to live properly. Nowadays, students are taught in such a way that makes them pseudo intellectuals, where they may know lots of detailed information on a scientific topic, but is not intelligent enough to apply that information in any meaningful way. This is so that the student becomes accustomed to having someone else take care of everything.

Public schools from their inception were never meant to teach, but to indoctrinate. Look into their origins.

Because they started pushing the "everyone should go to college" narrative.
Growing up in Chicago, there were a bunch of technical/trade high schools so the kids who weren't destined for college would at least have a fighting chance of making a blue collar living.

Because school is for indoctrination not education. Those classes stopped when Fabrication jobs went overseas.

So, if shop classes are for producing workers capable of fabrication, what Sort of workers do you imagine they are currently trying to produce?

    short answer - budgets
long answer - not enough skilled teachers, esp computers, electronics, drafting
labs cost too much to set up & maintain
metal & woodworking were deemed too dangerous
same with drivers ed, now they use a driving simulator
afaik they still have home ec [sewing, cooking]

with as little aggravation as possible

When I was liberal I dated a super liberal gf that worked in this academic resource center that provided any kid with computers, musical instruments (even turntables), video games, recording equipment, etc. I told her it would all get stolen by n-words. She sighed and didn't want to agree but she knew I was right. I was and she almost got fired because too much stuff went missing and they couldn't watch kids, check bags or anything. I doubt that place is still open. Niglets would rob it blind.

when i taught there was one old lady who did fuckall
her job was to arrange 1 day/yr when professional ppl would come in & tell stewdents
how to get a job, what it entails, how much it pays etc
finally tbtb realized it wasn't worth it & for once they were right
the sad part is that this professional liaison woman was long in the tooth, white hair, near retirement age, knew it was coming,
but when they told her it was a fountain come alive, so many tears she shed
        >oh boo hoo pity me whatever shall i do?
n-word, you mean to tell me you didn't put a few sheckles away for a rainy day?
and she was married, too, she wasn't going to be hungry nor roofless

you meet some of the dumbest ppl in education
        >math teachers who couldn't balance checkbooks, do weighted grading
        >foreign language teachers who couldn't speak the espanol
        >English teachers whose lesson plans for the week was 10 vocab words through worksheets
        >TV production teachers who did a broadcast once in a blue moon

I had woodworking class in grade school in the eighties. The teacher had a stub for a thumb where he accidentally cut it off.

I had a fat, greasy, buzz cutted gym teacher that expected us all to call him coach though he didn't coach shit. If we complained or pussied out he would call us fruitcakes. He unironically was a good dude and I had no problem with him.

My music teacher was a sashaying homosexual that got in a fight at a gay bar. It was in the local newspaper.
