Why did Koreans become more Americanized than the Japanese?

Why did Koreans become more Americanized than the Japanese when the US basically rebuilt Japan from scratch and even rewrote its constitution?

Japan didn't have a fuckton of its intellectuals convert to Mutt Protestantism and bring its filth into their countries.

    >Late 19th-Early 20th Century.
    >Be Korean nationalist.
    >See Confucian China get BTFO by Modern West/Japan.
    >Get colonized by Japan yourself.

    >Fuck.woodplockprinting.
    >Must fucking modernize.
    >Ok but how?
    >The Japanese won't exactly allow me to study in their Universities.
    >No modern universities in Korea

    >Suddenly you notice Chinese intellectuals' tactics in how to get a modern education for free.
    >Step 1) Approach an American protestant missionary.
    >Step 2) Say you'll convert to their faith.
    >Step 3) The idiots will bankroll your education in America/Modern Mission schools 4 Free.

    >Do the same thing except you end up actually believe in American protestantism.
    >Do this for 50 years.
    >By 1950s literally all intellectual KOreans (sans the Socialist ones) have American Mission School Backgrounds and are protestant by faith.
    >Lap up everything American.

This basically. Plus, little in the way of a state-sanctioned high culture and weak folk religion unlike Japan. Christianity filled the gap.

What the fuck even was the Korean religion before? It was some stupid shamanism shit, right?

Depending on who's currently cucking them. If it's chinks, then their religion turns into Daoism and Confucianism. If Mongols, then they suddenly start to develop interest in Tengrism and Shamanism.

Based Japanese had zero respect for this bugs for a reason.

Korean elites had no respect for average koreans because just like most elites in this world, they weren't the natives. They were most likely Chinese and then Mongol mutts who subscribed to their father cultures (korean women got Chinkd and Mongold). And who would blame them? After all, Koreans are pathetic black sheep of asians who kept getting jobbed by anyone who fucking bothered to show up.

Their culture is basically to just bend over to the next conqueror.

It is an interesting thought, and if it were in fact the case that many upper-class Koreans have Mongol, Manchu or other ancestry classically considered "barbaric," it would obviously be hidden by Korean society. There's a tantalizing theory that the paekjong class were actually the descendants of Jurchen refugees which seems plausible when you consider what their occupations often actually involved (animal husbandry and slaughter, meat preparation) and how much the negative stereotypes surrounding them are also characteristic of those held about the Jurchens.

The likes of the 1st gen Chinese nationalists "converted" to protestantism to acquire the support of gullible American Protestants and...subsequently forgot about Christianity.

Like Sun Yat-sen & Chiang Kai-shek were baptised Methodists purely for ambitious reasons (Sun did so to have Methodists bankroll his medical studies, Chiang to marry one of the Soong Sisters, whose family in turn converted to ease Business ties with Mutts). But at the same time under the Nationalist Republic, the Re-persecution of Christians restarted and they didn't do shit about it.

Japan is also incredibly Americanised. Only difference is the Japanese never converted to protestantism. Shame. A protestant Japan would be beyond based.

Christianity turns Asians into instasoulless freaks. Just look at Filipinos.

Asians are already soulless. At least their soullessness could be devoted to Christ.

Christ is truth. Globohomo is a gross perversion of his truth by those who have their own motives outside of Christ.

They have no principles as a nation. Their entire history is to bend over to whoever is greater than them and then copy their shtick. At least Japs and Chinese tried to do their own thing up to a point. These losers would convert the moment they see that you're 5% greater.

People call Chinks for Bugs, but I will argue that it fits Koreans a lot better.

Korea had a much weaker identity as an independent state compared to Japan. It was never "part of China," but it was very much an associated dependency that delegated its external affairs to China and modeled its high culture and government around what ancient Chinese philosophers thought was exemplary.

So once the Chinese had been soundly defeated by first the UK and then Japan, Koreans inevitably sought out new models of leadership and progress. First Japan, and after Japan's defeat at the hands of the Soviets and US these two nations became a model for North and South Korea respectively (although there is today very much a tendency in both Koreas to strenuously deny and downplay their borrowings from both cultures, and a taboo but nevertheless unmistakable preference to attribute more progress in Korea to even the hated Japanese before the influence or contributions of racially alien white interlopers).

Not really. After the occupation was over Japan basically went back to pre-war society aside from the militarization, the burgers purposefully let them go back to that to exploit right wing nationalism as a shield against communist influences. All the occupation legislation was repealed or sidestepped quickly, just look at the zaibatsu > keiretsu transormation.

What has that got to do with it? Money by itself does nothing to shape society, it's all about how you use it, and the japs were let free to use it how they wanted.

No, I meant that we LITERALLY rebuilt the country. The amount of cities we left completely devastated with our firebombings is jaw-dropping when you stop to read about it. The country was in shambles long before the nukes dropped.

Christianity is probably the main reason. Christianity as we all know is opposed to all tradition and history so that will obviously quicken the deterioration of native values if adopted.

Also US installations in South Korea from what I know is more often in urban areas whereas in Japan they're on various islands, which means there will be less contact.

    >Why did Koreans become more Americanized than the Japanese
The Japanese eradicated Korean culture while they were otherwise busy raping the peninsula before WW2, then it got turned into a proxywar between US and China/USSR
Up until getting buttfucked by the Japanese, they had a distinct Chinese satellite culture not that different from how Japan developed

      >The Japanese eradicated Korean culture
This is a Korean myth. Korea was simply a poorer, less developed copy of China with funny hats for most of its history. See, the Koreans have a bad habit of building up shit about their history to make them seem more relevant and sophisticated than they actually have been up until the late 20th century. Case and point: THIS was what Seoul looked like shortly before Japanese colonization.
