That's an existential question. Why abandon infinity to experience the finite body? Infinite consciousness became finite.

I think your opinion is shit. You used two forms of base reptile-brain consumption as justification for why this world is 'awesome.' Orgasms and pokemon; this take makes me sad. You owe yourself some introspection

    Infinite consciousness = infinite potentiality
Not only is this experience inevitable, so too are the infinite variations of said experience. Basically, you, I and everyone else will relive this life and all other lives eternally. Dream doesn't stop, the dreamer's always imagining everything.

Just relax, dude. Everything that can happen WILL happen and HAS happened before.

You're not experiencing it now and dreading it won't diminish the pain later. Better to just live in the moment, appreciating the highs and lows of the many wayward dreams we find ourselves falling through. The comforting thing is, this too shall pass. No pain, no joy, no memory is truly eternal. It all ebbs and flows, receding back unto itself and forward again.

You'll also experience every kind of bliss imaginable. Don't forget that

Maybe so, but it's not like I haven't been ripped apart and reformed before. I'm not too worried about how this finite life ends. Nothing ever ends.

Were you forced through a fine mesh, like a silkscreen? Did it hurt? I've been told it hurts a lot. Is it so that you can bind your consciousness to inanimate objects? Like cars and weapons etc.

      >Just relax, dude. You will experience every kind of torture imaginable.

      That idea is bogus.
You're literally pushing NON-INFNITE existence and calling it infinite.
The only reason you'd need to go through each possible existence and/or "relive" any of them is if the possiblities were NOT infinite.

Infinity is unboundedness. An actually infinite reality would never... NEVER... exhaust its possiblities.
Even if you skip huge swaths of potential lives you still won't exhaust the space of possibilities, because infinity implies it has no end. You CANNOT exhaust it.

    >I’m sandwiched between the problem of good and the problem of evil. Clearly there is some “design” to this – there is constancy to phenomena and there is abundant mercy (considering the fact that existence could have been eternal hell.) Why isn’t it hell? Why isn’t the totality of conscious experience limited to a slice of stressful qualia on loop? Why do I not suffer from perpetual pain or exist as a diffuse blob of burn and itch? This is the problem of good, or perhaps more conservatively if we don’t want to go so far as to call existence good, then the problem of mercy. There seems to be no reason that a hedonically blind, neutral, purely random existence would take such care with my day to day reality.

I think about this all the time. I get existence, and I like it, but sometimes I'm taking a shit or having a headache or a toothache and think to myself, why this? A lot of aspects of human life are just stupid.

Life is a challenge and a legacy all rolled into one. The legacy of our existence and its future progeny are of utmost importance to consciousness in order to know itself.
Most consciousness is of the level of mineral, if its lucky it can be something like an ant. If its extraordinarily lucky it can become a human being.

I dunno, maybe because your little pet theory is wrong? Consciousness appears from an empirical perspective to be the product of a brain managing itself. It's not a human only trait, or a binary state, or a fundamental aspect of subatomic particles. It's just a brain looking at itself because that provides some reproductive advantage. It seems so convincing, so complete, because the brain producing the effect does not also have some mechanism to detect the limitations of its own delusions. For instance, we all have a blindspot where our optic nerve interrupts the retina. But we don't see it. That's not because our brain fills in the empty space, but because it does not have some module that detects the empty space. It doesn't have to fix the image, because the image is only for its own use. Fixing it or filling it in just takes extra resources for no payoff. Same thing for "consciousness". It feels persistent, but it's not.

The world we find ourselves in is exactly what we would expect given the laws of physics and process of evolution.

      >your theory is wrong
      >muh empirical subjective speculation
And yet they will never be able to explain how conscious can just cease to exist forever despite having inconsistently been in nonexistence before birth for billions of years.

Your brain didn't exist before your conception. There is no evidence that consciousness exists without a brain.

There's one part in Robert Monroe's books where he says he visited his "home" during an astral trip only to find it a perfect but unbearably boring and repetitive place because his consciousness had grown beyond it. Perhaps when a previous version of your consciousness chose to grow into this form, it had no concept what was good and bad to your present form. Maybe that's the best it could do.

Don't listen to the anons telling you you're just unlucky.
Embedded in that belief is the belief that you're powerless. And that's not the case.

You're not in a reality anon, you are a reality. The fact that you see how ugly this form is means you're already in the process of changing it.
Just don't fall for the narratives trying to make you go back to sleep (or re-insert you into the matrix) like the ones telling you to accept it for one reason or another.
Don't accept it. You know deep in your soul that things shouldn't be this way, and that knowing is what's going to get you out of it. Don't let it go.

at least one type of intelligence enjoys problem solving. this reality is a large problem.
when you break down reality pretty deep you can actually see it's all backwards (beyond man made interference) which kinda proves this reality is just memes for problem solving, growth and action. That doesn't make it OK, but infinite eternity is pretty big
