The frick are you talking about, OP?

At least in America, you can still get the death penalty in most places for murder, while rape only ever carries a sentence in prison.

The 21st century view that its always better for someone to be killed rather than raped. Maybe it's different in other places but that's basically the sentiment in most western countries.

In societies where this is true (which is not all of them), it the general logic is that murder can have understandable and even commendable motives (self-defense, honor, etc.) while rape is purely based on self-gratification.

I’m pretty sure murder is still considered worse. Punishment for rape has actually decreased (it was originally death for some), but after it was revealed that rapists were more likely to kill their victim if the punishment was already death, the death penalty for rape was removed.

    Being raped entails lifelong humiliation
Being murdered doesn't entail humiliation, unless it's done in a very embarrassing or cruel way

Because raping a woman before the modern era meant you've sullied another man's property and will pay for it in gold or blood.
Raping a woman today is bad because we have deluded each other into believing in strong independent womxn n shiet.

In either case, people who try to claim that rape was ever acceptable are turbovirgins who will jerk off to anime until they snap and prey on a close relative. Particular that one homosexual who occasionally posts rape fantasy threads here.

Rape leaves a survivor who we can continue empathizing with; we feel the impact of their suffering much more palpably than with murder which leaves a cold bag of flesh behind.

    >De Tocqueville wrote of how American women of the early 19th century had comparatively advanced rights against most other countries of the world where they were considered chattel. He noted in particular that rape was a capital offense here while in his native France, it was merely a misdemeanor.

It was a crime against property and family (meaning that the victim wasn´t just the woman but her parents and siblings)

Around the 18th to 19th century people started to grow a more romanticised view of women as something that needed to be protected at all costs.
