Growing up is realizing that Pessoa isn't a genius just because you can relate to him.

Good writers don't get laid. I refuse to read anything written by a disgusting s*xhaver.

Did he at least have sex or even make out?

        No

        No

Probably didn't have sex, but there are indications they did in fact make out, or at least kissed each other and such.
Ofélia loved him and wanted marriage, but he didn't. There are also indications he might have been homosexual, or at least had homoerotic thoughts.

I can't read this homosexual anymore. There is this brazilian girl in my class with those pure black eyes and face, with more curly hair. Love hurts.

More respect. He probably knew what it entails.

        1. most of his family died during his childhood and his health (both physical and mental) wasn't very good either
        2. he was a portuguese romancist (=super attraction towards melancholy and idealised nostalgia, a cold mistress)
        3. he was a l*xoboeta petty aritocrat

in short, he never stood a chance

This is actually partially true. There is something in his biography about how he was interested in various occult stuff like seances and astrology etc. At one point he developed an interest in automatic writing (I think that's what it was called) where you allow some kind of spiritual entity to dictate what you write. It turned out that whatever entity he channeled just attacked him for masturbating so much.

        I'm gonna post the epithalamium:

        II

Part from the windows the small curtains set
Sight more than light to omit!
Look on the general fields, how bright they lie
        Under the broad blue sky,
Cloudless, and the beginning of t1e heat
        Does the sight half iil-treat!
The bride hath wakened. Lo! she feels her shaking
        Heart better all her waking!
Her breasts are with fear's coldness inward clutched
And more felt on her grown,
That will by hands other than hers be touched
And will find lips sucking their budded crown.
Lo! the thought of the bridegroom's hands already
Feels her about where even her hands are shy,
And her thoughts shrink till they become unready.
She gathers up her body and still doth lie.
She vaguely lets her eyes feel opening.
In a fringed mist each thing
Looms, and the present day is truly clear
But to her sense of fear.
Like a hue, light lies on her lidded sight,
And she half hates the inevitable light.

He was strictly an onanist. His dissociation from reality made it impossible for him to enjoy the company of others.

Do you mean figuratively or was he really a masturbator?

Personally I don't think he was.
People assume that if he had sex, there would be evidence, but why? I have had sex with many girls, but for most of them, if I died today, there would be no evidence but their memories and some text messages to which no one has access but me, and which didn't exist in Pessoa's time anyway.
Likewise for Borges. His maid said he died a virgin, but his friends recalled going to brothels with him in Zurich, and one Brazilian writer (Pagu) mentions his overly sexual advancements on her. Both Pessoa and Borges were very private men, after all...

A brazilian biographer who discovered some of his heteronims said he is a closeted homossexual
However the biographer himself looks lile a closeted fag so take it with a grain of salt
