CAN were heavily inspired by African Ame4ican Music as were most Krautrock Bands they just did y have the same concepts or conventional beauty as American Musicians did because they were working from mostly Military,Classical, and Avant Garude backgrounds. It has more Funk and Soul Elements than mist US Bands at that time did actually. CAN were singing about le peace and cultural understanding just yk under the context that The USSR absolutely should and must win. Same with ADii. They

Nah CAN were definetely communist, the c literally stands for Communism according to the band itself. Makes it extra stunning and brave that they made sure this one perticular us military veteran who was suffering from mental illness get back home to his family during arguably one of the absolute fucking heights of The Cold War. CAN really did actually give a fuck beyond they're facade of cynicism. John Lennon larped as a Hippie and beat the fuck out of his wife. Frank Zappa lapped as straight edge and died of lung cancer. CAN never said anything but what they fucking meant. That being said you can tell they're trained. Extremely calculated and technical. Extremely graceful too. Damo Suzaki being a sketchy ass dude obviously tied to the drug trade brought them that honesty and realness. As artsy and pretentious as CAN were Damo always pulled them back down to earth.

Yeah that was probably the motivational structure but I'm pretty sure the drug sales were what was allowing him to do that. He went to parts of The US where Shrooms don't grow naturally, and I'm pretty sure they do in most of Japan. Not only that but from what I understand Japanese Shrooms are pretty strong. Germany and Scandi have strong shrooms too but these shrooms are more toxic to the brain.

Damo was a plug. He'd inexplicably been to The West Coast of The United States too. If he started today he'd probably be a drill rapper unironically.

Lot ot Psychedelia Popular Figures were actually just Junkies or Drug Dealers. Arthur Lee for instance was both. There was also the third and fourth undiagnosed schizophrenia and undiagnosed ptad categories of underground 1960s rock music. Like how Father Yod basically created a cult because he wasn't getting that support for veterans. Ll or The Monks larping as Le CIA Agents to talk about stories which basically just soundbite wartime trauma. Or Jim Morrison even if he did have CIA Ties or let's say Christian Vander (although technically Prog) just read as Schizophrenics unchecked with maybe a concerning number of Followers, and even if Jim Morrison was le secret cia agent most of what he seemed to want people to do was relatively hinged and positive, while someone like Charles Manson let's say wanted to cause the nukes to drop after killing multiple celebrities so that he could start le funny watch list wars and a lot it absolutely horrible things The CIA did do although some people in The CIA were also likely doing shadey backroom deals over drugs for their own profit which I could see maybe Jim Morrisons Family being heavily involved in in someway, maybe Jim Morrison saw this as a justified action and him playing in a rock band was helping negate any personal negative feelings about doing such when he was likely indirectly getting other people killed, who's to say.

CAN were just Communist prettymuch as a whole not really hippies. Damo Suzaki joined after The Original Singer was sent home to The United States due to Mental Illness both likely genetic and from being in war. A Discharged probably Schizophrenic who was suffering serious PTSD from being in The US Military and probably didn't share CANs political ideas but saw CAN as a supportive sort of art community who were maybe helping him get social help that sadly at The time US Military Veterans especially likely discharged ones just weren't receiving. Basically he started freaking out and repeating a angular ograse on stage and got basically sent back to The US on CANs request likely because The US Military didnt want to cause widespread cultural conflict and probably realized that a story about The US Military abandoning a war veteran with visible mental illnesses would likely cause many people to side with CAN. They were supposedly on the phone with the US Embassy for weeks trying to get this guy treatment in The United States and essentially used all the leverage they had to make sure he could see his family again. A general wholesome feel good moment from CAN where as cynical and likely gained up as they were maybe lived up to the peace,Love, and understanding ethos that followed them. They basically ensured this guy still had a place in society and it's actually really sweet when you look at it especially since they likely put themselves into danger or at least compromised themselves doing so. CAN unironically stood up for the little guy while John Lennon was yelling bullshit from his mansion even when it made themselves look bad and likely put them in potential danger. While Hippies in the US were rejecting homeless Vets CAN who were likely literally being funded by Communism went out of their way to defend a mentally ill veteran thousands of miles away from home in the middle of a mental crisis. Same time John Lennon was beating the fuck out of his wife.

I forgot what I was gonna say I'm slightly stoned but basically Kosmiche Musik often included "Kosmiche Soul" or "Cosmic Funk" (stuff like Funkadelic or The Undisputed Truths Cosmic Truth). Tons of very Krautrock Adjacent all things considered African American Music from The 1970s. The Krautrockers also tended to see these bands favorably and place them in high value although some other European Bands (Hawkwind and Magma) obviously had at least some hands in this style of Progressive Music too.

CAN were masculine as fuck. Prettysure they were blitzed out on whatever hard drugs the rest of Postwar Germany was doing despite the whole hippy aesthetic. That's not to say CAN are le problematic but I imagine 70s Germany had a very different supply of things than 70s America.

Look it up though,I'm not making it up. Look up what the bands name means and it will tell you. CAN didn't give too fucks except when it mattered the most of all.
