Why can’t Christians ever agree on what Christianity even is?
Muslims disagree on legal interpretations, but that’s it
We don’t have dudes running around claiming to be Allah’s brother, or that Allah is three persons in one, or that Allah is an alien warlord among many, or that assrape is the only way into heaven, or that babies go to a freaky not-heaven-not-hell cope, or let creepy “wizards” rape women to heal hemophilia, or think kings/queens have healing powers, or pay to sign contracts to guarantee heaven, or stab people over semantics, or hold gigantic conferences where we try to figure out what our religion even is, or burn cats, or say beavers are fish, or refuse blood transfusions, or all other manner of wacky Christian shit
Yeah you do. It's just that the most vocal form of Islam today, that's backed by gulf oil money, doesn't like to acknowledge the diversity among Muslims. Sure, if you claim that everyone who believes things you don't like is an infidel, then it's gonna look like Islam is not a very diverse religion, but that's kinda cheating, and it's a double standard if you don't allow Christians to do the same thing.
Not partial to either side, but it's because Muslims largely put opposing schisms to death or try to. Christianity did for a while too, but since the Reformation there's no immediate hostile response to opposing inter-theologies whereas in most of the Muslim world being of one sect or another will get you killed on the spot.
No religion has ever had a definition that wasn't a vague umbrella term. Because the religion is constantly changing and in different places and times it meant different things.
If a person says they are Christian/Muslim and they want to say the figure of their religion taught the same thin as Buddah there are multiple subjective ways to say he is wrong and multiple subjective ways to say they are right. You can even invent an entirely new point on why they are right or wrong. None of the points are definitive, you just have to pick a starting point and draw your conclusion from there.
>We don’t have dudes running around claiming to be Allah’s brother
You realize the entire schism in Islam between Sunnis and Shiites is about the political succession based on Mohammed's bloodline, right?
I'm not even a Christian but a Muslim shouldn't cast stones on this
So I take it that you've never heard of Nation of Islam?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation_of_Islam
You don't get more wacky than that.
You also have the Moorish Science Temple and the Five Percent Nation.
There's also the fact that Islam itself is extremely wacky.
Drew Ali, Fard, and Clarence were never involved in any mainstream form of Islam. They basically just heard of Islam and thought it sounded exotic and just made shit up as they went to blacks who didn't know any better because Islam wasn't a common religion in the US yet. There's a reason the NoI had a loss of members when guys like Malcom X and Elijah Muhammad's son started meeting actual Muslims and learning about actual Islam.
You can say exactly the same thing about all those wacky Christian sects. Stop applying such a double standard.
Not really. You can't get much weirder than Mormonism for Christianity but Joseph Smith was involved in regular forms of Christianity before calling himself a prophet. None of those guys actually practiced any form of traditional Islam before breaking off. They were taking advantage of blacks being dissatisfied with Christianity and finding Islam exotic without knowing much about it.
>You can't get much weirder than Mormonism
Yes you can, Nation of Islam
>Joseph Smith was involved in regular forms of Christianity before calling himself a prophet.
Pr*testantism isn't Christianity. Compared to the rest of Christendom, all the pr*testant sects that spawned during the 19th century are very much not "regular forms of Christianity".
Yeah, let's all listen to the Mary worshippers
Mormonism isn't part of Christianity though,
Otherwise by the same logic you could say that Islam is also part of Christianity.
We can't discuss judaism or atheism in a negative light at all, but atheists and israelites can spam LULZ all day long with low quality spam like this thread.
Yeah, it's weird. It's as if the entire christian faith is just a bunch of made up stories adapted by people of different periods, clultures and lands to justify and comfort themselves, and not the word of a single all poweful God. Funny that.
>Muslims disagree on legal interpretations, but that’s it
>what is the first fitna
>what is wahhabism
>what is the shiite sunni split
Muslims have been killing and brutalizing eachother for centuries. On top of that you have cultists like sufis and alevites running arround being weirdos, don't come at us with this nonsense like there's no problems in the ummah.
Why do Christians live rent free in your heads? Just focus on yourself and fixing your own evil shithole nations.
>Why can’t Christians ever agree on what Christianity even is?
Jesus didn't come to make anything so convenient and easy.
>Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.-Matthew 10:34
And that will be many deceivers, speaking in his name or claiming to be him.
>For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.-Matthew 24:5
True faith will be so rare at that he poses the question whether it will even exist in the last days.
>Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?-Luke 18:8
His apostles also constantly warned of deceivers and false teachers already popping up in his lifetime. The coming of Christ was the equivalent of kicking a beehive. And all of Satan's forces have been trying to lay hold of it ever since. Including your Muhammad.
their lifetime*
Christianity is a big religion with many denominations, but the fundamental tenets are identical. You seem to want to focus on the minority's actions to judge the majority. In fact, I can find an example for any absurdity. For example, in Islam, the idea that 72 virgins are granted to male martyrs in the afterlife is a common view, even though there is little scriptural basis.
>Why can’t Christians ever agree on what Christianity even is?
But we do
>We don't have dudes blablablablabla
You probably do because there are sunnis and shias and a lot more sects.
That's all I know and honestly I couldn't care less about knowing more.
Also that you have to dance around like monkeys around a black rock """"sent by god from heaven""""" in order to gain Allah's "Ok my boy", don't eat nothing for one month during daylight, restrain from eating/drinking certain foodstuff, have your women covered all up, pray with your head pointing in a very specific direction, and some other dumbfuck retardations I can't recall now.
