How steep of terrain are you trying to climb? I ride my dirt bikes on single track trails and any time I’ve felt a climb was too steep it was because of my high center of gravity, not a loss of traction.
Yeah you are correct, the shape of a bike and your high center of gravity is the limiting factor on climbing. I have multiple ebike bikes, rear wheel, mid hub, and tried to add a front wheel to the mid hub but it was as t good.
If you wanna go up hill on ebike or regular bike you can only do much. Two wheel drive really doesn’t help and would be too much for the average person. Maybe some extreme mountain biking enthusiast can utilize it in a way that helps them but I found it worse than single motor - for control - which is infinity more important than power.
I have an unthrotted fat tire bike that I’ve gotten up to 50 mph and two with limiters, a fat tire that can go to 30ish mph and a pedal assist only light town bike thst can go 25.
But no matter which I’m riding I’m usually only cruising around at a casual 15-20 mph because it feels most comfortable, wind wise, shock wise, and response time wise. Only picking up speed for fun when safe. Anyone who doesn’t ride this way, the normal/sane way, deserves what happens.

The new Goldwings actually have too much technology. The amount of buttons is ridiculous and there are more functions than on many cars. It's intimidating and silly. But they are really cool to ride. The engine is sick and they are surprisingly nimble. The 80s ones are the best looking and they can be had for cheap. Many old people bought them and then died so there are tons with less than 50k miles for $2k that just need a carb cleaning and some electrical fixes and they're in top shape again for like $1k in fixes. The power delivery is smooth as hell, the engine is giant, and the size of the bike is something you don't get until you're on it though so it's not for young people.
If you want to be a turbo boomer get a harley. If you want something economical get a 250cc or similar.

a Sur Ron at 30mph or so gets around 380mpg.. only issue is it only has 20 miles of range that speed. I would say the biggest issue with a high powered ebike is range. ..although a tiny battery like that you should be able to charge it back up quickly even on 120v

Uhm. Well, with a car the engine is totally enclosured and you have a layer of soundproofing foam between you and the engine. Additionally cars have a longer run for the exhaust pipe. So for the driver, a motorcycle will almost certainly be louder. That said, mine isn’t even close to obnoxious unless I’m wide open without a helmet.
In terms of the neighbors and whatnot… it’s not a Harley. It doesn’t make loud noises unless I’m really on the gas. Some bikes are much more quiet than others.

Its worse then that, as you say its ideal conditions but its beyond whats even realistic, they did the guiness world record indoors on a smooth velodrome track, with a professional athlete wearing aero gear, with narrow high psi tyres, correct temp for the battery to work optimally etc etc, and the speed was limited to 15mph. There isn't much point having a strong dirt bike style construction like the stealth bomber clones have if you are only doing 20mph most of the time, which is what you need to do to be able to go more than 50 miles on an e-bike on one charge, and typically these batteries take 5 to 8 hours to charge. Delfast used a huge battery to partially overcome those limitations, hence why its so expensive, if that battery breaks or has to be replaced, or anything else breaks, its very expensive.
Thats why my newest design is more like what Sasha Kreosan used, alloy frame hardtail gravel bike with a triangle battery in the middle with a second smaller battery on the rear rack.
Multiple batteries is the way. I have 3 bikes that use the same batteries and have 8 or the batteries, keep an extra strapped on a bike if I’m going far.

This is true. Many of them struggle on big hills. There are some that do really well on hills, but it can be a problem on >30degree inclines. It forces me to actually exercise my legs, which is good for me. The Ariel Rider Grizzly is good if you want something that goes up hills. Keep in mind the tech is still early, so torque isn't there yet for hills on a lot of bikes. It's getting better every year though.

Electric Unicycle is pretty fun. I bought Airwheel for my kids but I learned ride it too and got hooked badly. Current one is 2200W and can go over 50kmh. Now I want Begode Master with 3500W. I have a motorcycle too and I love it but powerful EUC is also great fun. I've tried 5600W electric scooter too and it just owned mopeds.
People can ride what they want I don't care. Small electric way to move is useful specially in the cities.

they’re pretty good actually. tried one out for awhile, bike shop had trials for them where you could pay 100$ to use it for a month and you could keep doing that or just buy it. this one would’ve been 2700$ which isn’t too much more than a decent bike. Also you don’t have to use the assist at all. If you want you can just use it as a regular bike. could easily get up to 30mph within a few seconds using it at the max and made even steep hills almost effortless to go up. They have levels and gears so you can still make it as physical as you want. dense urban areas might be annoying to ride them but in my small rural town it was great to get around places.
I have 3 ebikes. You don’t have to spend 7000 dollars. You can get a good bike for around 1500 and a great one for under 3000. You can also buy a kit and convert an existing bike for 150-500 bucks. Ebikes are fucking fun as shit and only practical for in town transportation. My bikes have 20-40 mile range. I have backup batteries for mine. I mostly, 99% of the time use my bikes for recreation and still use my cars for actually getting around. These aren’t meant to replace cars, they are toys, like regular bikes, or motorcycles, 4wheelers, etc. If you already enjoying biking you will enjoy an ebike too. It’s not some grand conspiracy.

On the cost: the batteries are expensive but charging them is cheap, I pay under a penny a mile and that's if I'm bombing it full throttle. Bike components are a rip off though admittedly, partially due to small volume and that they are often western based. Still worth it on balance imo.

Main reason for ebikes is they're really simple, theres a bike, a motor and battery pack. You dont need insurance, you use it like a regular bike and it goes max 25km/h and lifes easy.
Now people will steal them, or at minimum the battery pack and whatever else they can cram off the bike so you need advanced anti-theft solutions like keeping it indoors and heavy locks, but the annual cost of using one relative to anything else is actually tolerable for a minimum wager.

You can have an acceptable ebike that will do 100miles at 25mph for like $1,500. Most Ebikes in that power class with a 72v battery(where most of the cost goes on a Stealth Bomber ebike variant) are pretty expensive. If your looking for a more reasonable option I suggest Sur Ron; half the price, 45mph, 30 mile range, 0-100% battery charge in just 5 hours, as customizable as any bike and the batteries last over 3000 miles if properly maintained(20-80% charge and discharge). Only drawback is that the pedal kit is pretty ass and cops might hassle you about where you ride it

Oldfag here. I just bought a RipRacer from Juicedbikes for $1700. It is awesome. I need to get more exercise, because I work at a home at a desk. Center of town is 5 miles away, and hilly. I used to ride it as a kid, but it has gotten harder as an adult, and the e-bike helps me do the hills that discourage the physical exercise. I find myself pushing myself harder on rides because I know that if I get exhausted, I can get a little assist.
It is a toy, but it is also a great way to get around locally. I have a big 4x4 van that I strap it to the back of, and when I travel, I can park the van in a safe place, and explore cities, parks, and go from town to town.
