Why are there almost no indigineous peoples in Europe? Only the Sami are indigenous.

Why are there almost no indigineous peoples in Europe? Only the Sami are indigenous.

Meanwhile Africa, Asia and the Americas have plenty of indigineous people

Indigenous just means people who retained hunter gatherer lifestyles and were isolated

Europe doesn’t have this because their geography is extremely favorable to civilization and sedentary living. There are virtually no environmental obstacles (jungles, deserts, etc) that would cause isolation and prevent people from getting with the times.

This is also the reason why europe was easily able to receive foreign technology like the compass, numbers/decimals, gunpowder, the loom, and more without actively trying to seek these things. Europe as a continent is easily accessible by trade but difficult to invade, since it’s surrounded by water on 3 sides

It's basically this. Groups that have their own culture and weren't assimilated by the main local culture.
The actual definition of indigenous doesn't really matter here. Scandinavians have been in Scandinavia for far longer than Sami.

      >IE arent natives
They are as much as natives to Eurasia as Aztecs and other Nahua are native to Americas.

We call them IE because they spread out so much but they originate in one tiny area and invaded the rest, displacing those that were there before.

do you think Germanics, Celtics and Latins are aliens from Andromeda or something? Sometimes Afrocentrists and "muh Hyperborea" people sound exactly same

I think OP means "people that were there first". The groups you mentioned all migrated and displaced other groups.

Saami migrated there after Indo-Europeans and displaced other groups (mostl likely some remannats of SHG and EHG people).

so are native Americans, yet we call them natives

The Triple Alliance were absolutely seen as invaders.

what does this even have to do with it?

We call them IE because they spread out so much but they originate in one tiny area and invaded the rest, displacing those that were there before.

Eurasian steppes and Americas are similar, if not same, environments if you look at it. Why we call Nahua, Comanche, Sioux and Lakota natives while call IE "invadorzzz". Why we call Bantu and Habesha native civilisations while Europeans are... guess what... invaded Europe?

The idea of “indigineous peoples” only exists as a political tool to push for certain policies to empower ethnic groups or give them disproportionate sway in government

Who an indigenous group is, is entirely determined by academia. A left wing dominated level of society.

You can call me /misc/ or whatever but in the western academic circles, being white is seen as something of an original sin. While at the same time non whites are seen as perpetually oppressed.

As a result, white people can never be seen as “indigenous” despite being the descendants of the earliest settlers in the various parts of Europe. because that would imply they have some kind of historical right to a land. Something the same academics vehemently disagree with under multiculturalism and pro immigration policies.

It would also upset the whole hierarchy of oppression they lovingly set up,

      says

Pretty much every recognised “indigenous group” in the americas, Africa and Asia are not actually the first to settle it. They conquered it from other groups. Often committing genocide or pushing them out of the area to do so

      This is of course, ignored

Because the definition of indigenous makes it so Europeans can't be indigenous. Iceland, most likely uninhabited was settled a couple centuries before maoris conquered New Zealand for instance. Samis came to Scandinavia after what ended up becoming proto-germanics have formed. Slavs were present in their current locations before Aztecs founded their city and so on and so on.

All Europeans have 2-3% Neanderthal DNA, meaning that we are 20xtimes more ancient than "native" americans (asians) in America.

Neanderthals were in Europe 300.000 years ago. Also most Europeans have partial DNA from the Hunter Gatherers and also from the same people that painted the caves 40.000 years ago. That Yamanya and Neolithic farmers came later does not mean that they did not intermix with the ancient people.

Because Indigenous is in relation to European colonists.
