      Seeders and peers.

PT chads don't face this problem

Yes they do, that's why super-seeding was added as an extension to the protocol.

No we don't, just checked all the PTs I'm on and the highest leech count I could find was 26

That's the peer count, not the leech count. Words mean things.

nagger I know what peers, seeders and leechers are. I said 26 leechers and that's what I meant.

Torrents are like Wikis. You have a few contributors and a horde of leeches.

Imagine being a seedcuck in the current year. You're literally giving your bandwidth away for free so that other people can download their files.

      Anonymous

      That's the idea.

why are people downloading a new file? huh?

Because you posted a torrent that's under an hour old?
Each of the leechers is also seeding their part of the torrent, so it's not like they're actually pure leechers. The seeders are only needed to ensure that the swarm has all the chunks available.

I am convinced at this point that nobody on LULZ actually torrents, which makes the constant shitflinging about qbittorrent even more confusing. Wow, would you look at that, all the peers turned into seeds like magic https://nyaa.si/?f=0&c=1_2&q=&s=leechers&o=desc

It's called being a good person with integrity.
If you have 1gbps, why should you let 990mbps go to waste every second? Use it, share it for free, make corporations seethe. It's the chads way.

That's why I don't share anything with public shitters

most people suck, is just that simple.
i believe there was a simulation proving that while the existence of selfish assholes decreases the survival chances of the species, they will keep existing because, like cancer when they appear they start to take resources from cooperative non selfish counterparts in order to have better chances to survive, then after a while the amount of selfish skyrockets and the whole species start to suffer and decrease.

In many country, seeding torrents is illegal, and so people think they can get away by doing only hit-and-runs.

We still need newfags in the piracy scene so they can eventually take the torch. There are literal boomers that are Scene veterans that will eventually die. Gatekeeping is good, I agree but not to the point where you allow your community to die because you are completely against the idea of new blood. If piracy dies then it will also allow corporate overlords to hold a monopoly on new media since they realistically won't publish old shit like they're already doing, especially if there is an IP dispute between multiple companies.

torrents are maybe 10% of piracy if that, and that number is entirely boomers

Sort of correct, but only because zoomers can't into torrents and instead type in "new movies 2023 streaming online free" to google.
Torrents are actually owning the media you copied without a license.

Centralized streaming piracy "services" scrape from torrents. Without torrents, they die.

I usually notice seeders with dedicated servers. I'm fine leaving it in their capable hands.
