'Non-binary vocalist' is such a funny descriptor to me because it says absolutely nothing about how the vocals sound, and therefore has nothing to do with the music. 'Male/female/androgynous vocals' is actually descriptive of how the music sounds.

The world is currently more busy with pandering to certain audiences than making sense.

Why can’t they just use descriptors like soprano vocals or baritone vocals etc. these are gender neutral and are actually describing what the music sounds like. Female/nonbinary vocalist is so random

Fuck off younpiece of shit homophobic bigots. Fuck your.

what? female/male/nonbinary vocalist dont make any sense as descriptors because theres female/male/nonbinary people with all types of voices

it shows how vapid all this identity nonsense is. it literally doesn't make a fuck what you identify as, good vocals are good and bad vocals are bad. homosexuals like OP are more interested in irrelevant labels than in what matters.

rym has 'female vocalist' for male troons so these descriptors are of no use anyway

      >soprano vocals or baritone vocals
most people would think you're talking about vocals with an italian mobster accent

Because that would require users to actually know something about music theory and history.

Also useful but register and timbre aren’t the same and a male alto sounds very different from a female alto

Has anybody addressed the contradiction between gender fluidity and the idea of bisexuality yet?
Like how can pansexuality and bisexuality exist at the same time either there’s two genders or there aren’t

bisexuality and pansexuality are basically the same thing

I'm still surprised I've never seen some mass shitfest about bisexuality as a term being transphobic. it's like waving a juicy steak in front of people who actively try to find shit to be mad about and yet they just don't bite

Nonbinary is such a 2015-2018 type of conversation, undoubtedly a grift if it's discussed in seriousness post 2018.

I feel like I've only seen it taken seriously outside of tumblr starting around 2019 or 2020, 2018 is the earliest

My main problem with these millennials identifying as non-binary is that they don’t understand the concept of gender performativity. To break the gender binary, you have to show it. You can’t just have heteronormative feminine traits and cal yourself non-binary. It makes it sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Hell, I saw a trans woman who put no fucking effort into changing her appearance to make herself appear feminine. If you didn’t know her pronouns, you’d assume she’s a cisgender dude.

      >inb4 that’s not what that means

Well, sorry, but you can’t just “feel” like you’re a different gender without performing it.

You should read the descriptor boxes of the last few Demi Lovato albums, it's amazing to watch these idiots flip-flop whenever this fat narcissist changes her mind

when is the trend of claiming to be nonbinary while presenting entirely as female going to end?

This, as someone who’s actually non binary and tries to present as androgynous as possible this shit is really fucking pissing me off. You have these chicks with their tits out dressing like chicks acting like chicks thinking that because they’re okay kissing another chick they can claim that they’re “non binary,” like no you’re not. You’re a fucking chick. You’re as binary as they come. Maybe you’re BiSEXUAL, but you’re not fucking non binary and it’s actually fucking trans phobic

So fucking true. It's just these dumb retards who want to be trendy and cool so they identify as something not female or male but they make no effort whatsoever to live.up to the Identity they want to be known as. Just call yourself a straight female slut and be done with it

What’s even dumber is that Ashnikko’s pronouns are she/they, which basically means “yeah I’m cisgender, but I don’t care if you refer to me with a gender neutral pronoun”. That last part doesn’t need to be implied.

RYM has officially lost it. I miss the old chart and weighting system. Now they are just making up genres everyday and changing shit that doesn't need changing like male vocals to male vocalist fucking stupid homosexuals.
