Who were ancient Iberians? Were they Indoeuropean?

Who were ancient Iberians? Were they Indoeuropean? Modern Iberians carry mostly haplogroup R1b-DF27, is this from ancient Iberians or not?

The people who inhabited the Mediterranean coast of Iberia

No they were not , they spoke Iberian languages

No idea about the haplogroup, probably from Central European Corded Ware / beakers

No, it's from Bell Beakers. Pre-Beaker Iberians were mostly I2.

Beakers came 4000 years ago, while Iberians still existed 2000 years ago. So Beakers adopted the native EEF languages in Iberia?

Some did and some didn't, depending on region

Most iron age spanish samples are DF27 - but a lot of the pre-celtic bronze age samples are too. I'm not sure what happened, perhaps celtic was brought with minimal lineage change/geneflow to spain. Ireland exhibits something similar.

Spanish U152 is mostly Roman - we don't have a ton of Spanish antiquity samples.

not him, but you seem to have a clue, would you mind to paint a map with subclades and specifying which are celtic and which are roman? I'd love that.

I don't have anything like that saved on my drive but using this:

            Englishmen came from Iberian's.

            >DF27
predominantly Spanish (Beaker descendants? Celtiberians? not exactly clear). It is also a minority lineage in BA/IA rest of Europe.
            >L21
Gaulish and British Isles - Seems to be a northern beaker and eventually the main Celt clade. More work needs to be done on the specific clades downstream but it looks like Hallstadt L21 replaces a lot of the BA L21 in Britain but not Ireland.
            >U152
Mostly Latin but also in some Celts. Etruscans also have a lot - probably has something do with Urnfield/proto-villanovan culture.

            >U106
            Germanic, associated with NBA.

            Who brought L21 to Iberia?

I don't know - probably long-term geneflow with Gaul or it came with Celts (yet didn't overwhelm the local lineages.
