So the superior one is the one whose tribe runs the entire world despite being 1% of the population I take it.

Fahey by a long shot. Dylan had a huge impact but Fahey spurred on DIY labels.

no comparison. i myself prefer michael hurley, phil ochs, nick drake, roy harper, dr strangely strange and dave von ronk, both those artists are good starting points though

Fahey, but they're nothing alike, so there's no point in comparing them.

      >two artists of the same genre are nothing alike
      OK, sure, retard.

Imagine being so musicially illiterate you think two artists are in the same genre simply because they play the same instrument
Do you go around comparing Django Reinhardt and Mark Kozelek too? How about gregorian chant and Mariah Carey?

They are in the same genre because they both play Folk.

If you're trolling, congrats, because I've seen your dumb shitposts comparing Fahey and Dylan before and I've fallen for them every time. I refuse to believe there's a person ignorant enough to be aware of both of these artists and unironically think they sound even remotely similar enough to warrant comparing them, let alone shit up threads about both artists with these retarded popularity contests. Unironically good job, because this is probably the only troll niche enough for me to fall for multiple times. But ignorance pisses me off, even feigned ignorance, and you're the stupidest motherfucker I've seen on this Korean basket weaving forum in years.
If you're not trolling, immediately stop posting on LULZ until you gain even a sliver of understanding about what folk music is, and exactly how both of these artists fit into the folk tradition. You're not even close to getting there, and with what I've seen from you thus far, I sincerely doubt you can ever get there. But in case you want to try, go listen to the Carter Family, Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, Blind Willie McTell, Bukka White, Elizabeth Cotten, Hank Williams and Blind Willie Johnson. Listen to their entire discographies until your ears bleed, and ONLY THEN can you make another retarded thread about John Fahey or Bob Dylan or whatever guitarist you discovered last month and want to seem oh so cool for talking about with the hipsters on LULZ. Maybe then you'll understand why Bob Dylan's music sucks and John Fahey's transcends time and culture, or why John Fahey's music sucks and Bob Dylan's is similarly transcendental. But until then, you're stuck being the braindead moron you currently are, and every time you go to put on Sligo River Blues or Fare Forward Voyagers or any of the incantations of Poor Boy, remember my words, and remember that you have NO CLUE what you are listening to.

Right, except nobody's ever heard of him, especially not outside the U.S..
