Let's be honest, these were not sports cars, they were lifestyle cars with sporty styling.
Most people just called them hairdressers cars, and those people have grandkids now.
This, they're different cars for different things and you can't really compare them. The mr2 might be more fun in the mountains but the supra is gonna be more comfy and hold more stuff on a long trip.

NTA, but he clearly stated "redo what the factory did wrong". In this case that means torque the head bolts
you need to chill out

Toyota absolutely fricked up on their torque specs, anyone who defends it is a moron, I'll give you that, but to wrtie off an entire car, presumably in decent condition, because of this issue, is even more moronic and makes you look like a wrenchlet.

It's just a case of anon knowing a certain fault in the cars design/manufacturing and using it to bait die-hard fans of the make.
It's like going at Chrysler for putting the battery in the wheel well or northstar having the starter in the valley.
mr2 looks like its in better shape and more fun to drive ngl
>supra
pretty standard 80s GT/Sports coupe, could just as easily be swapped out for a 300zx/944
>mr2
light, agile, mid-engined/backwards corolla

excuse me waiter, my pasta is stale, i want a refund
i don't think a hairdresser could afford a supra/300zx or want an MR2, they'd probably be buying an e30 or something girlier
>Thinking an AW11 was an expensive car
It was like 20% more expensive than an equivalent Corolla.

mr2 handles like trash outside of normal driving
supra is heavy as shit but can be made to be fast
go with the supra
The trugg
Oh look it's this thread again
>Oh look it's this thread again
?
The MR2 is probably more fun to drive but you'd actually want to own the Supra.
they are two completely different classes, one is a grand tourer and the other is a more sportsy kinda car.
i'd personally go for the mr2.
both are asiatic trash
Supra is a better street car
MR2 is a better track car
7M isn't as bad as people make out to be but you need to fix manufacturer spec errors, after that it's fine.
just get both
Imagine buying a car that has insufficiently torqued head bolts from the factory
imagine being a wrenchlet and this being a barrier.

Just tork them down and your engine is fine
Why would you, presumably male in origin, expose themselves willingly as a wrenchlet?
Obviously the fire bird for the V8
Have fun with your Fiero once it goes up in flames
