some Sandisk thing a friend got me for my birthday in 2007. The headphone jack is getting a bit dodgy, at some point I'll have to open it up again and fix that.

Spotify but I'm about to cancel my subscription and rip music instead. Any recommendations for apps to manage/play audio?
Also anybody ever set up an audio server? Would want to stream from my home server to my other devices if possible instead of redundancy across every device.
An A50 series walkman my brother brought straight from moonland. Very comfy, despite not having an internet connection. I wish I could set it to use english menus without losing access to voice recording.
How do you mean unmantained?, the data can be exported to file and for lyrics there is quickliryc, I haven't complains about its ui, I never pay for listen music
For a good 2 decades it was an iPod or iPod Touch. They were great for the time period and I'd buy a flash-physical modded one with USB-C if they weren't so damn expensive just for the kitsch factor.
This car has Android Auto in it though and after my last iPod Touch died (well the battery ballooned) and they stopped making them it just wasn't worth it to stay in the eco system since they were really the only Apple products besides an iPad or two I owned.
I put all my 4-5 star songs on my phone and use PlexAmp these days. I did one a Fiio but it was all jacked up and the display was like upside down and mirrored and I could never get it fixed and support/warranty didn't do shit for me.
I still have all my mp3s in iTunes but I haven't found a great way to convert a lot of my playlists to something else. Playlists is easy they're just m3us etc, but Star Ratings I'd have to go through and tag something in the notes like Star 1-5 in some unused mp3 field. Anyone else ever migrate to something else?
You can export playlists by song rating, that would probably be a good jumping off point to editing the tags, I think you can pull that info directly out of the itunes database file as well.
From what I remember the "Star Rating" wasn't an actual ID3 tag or something it was only internal to iTunes so I might have to export by playlist and find an unused tag to use to re-rate them.
When I drive, my truck, have a USB with 256GB of music in it.
When I fly, my FiiO, have 256GB, it plugs into my headset and just werks.
When home, my PC.
The only time I ever use my phone for music is when I'm doing some yard work using newpipe with a bluetooth speaker.

Vimusic app for ytmusic, spotify lite app for podcast
ViMusic is unmaintained and can't save files. YMusic is better, the paid unlock is worth it imo but not needed, bought with google rewards.
