the Martin is obviously more /fashion/ than whatever that other piece of shit is. Gibson is also /fashion/ but their QC is shit and they all have build in electronics which is not /fashion/
I hate to admit it because I’m a countrygay and really wanted to like Martin, but when I tried various options out the Taylor was by far the nicest to play, at least in my semi-poorgay ($1,200-ish) price range. I still think Martin looks the best though.
The rosette and bridge look stupid on the one on the right.

you shouldn’t buy a guitar based on what people find more /fashion/, go and try them out and decide based on that if you have any care for how comfortable and good-sounding they’ll be
the only good Martin guitars are standard series and above with full wood construction and the dovetail neck joints. You pretty much have to pay 1500+ to get a good guitar. I wouldn’t waste my money on anything cheaper. Also, only buy on reverb, so regardless of what you buy, you can save money and eventually resell for the same price as you bought it. Sadly, the market has really inflated since 2020 and Martin upped their standard series prices from 2399 to 2799, so where I used to be able to easily find an 0-18 for 1600, they’re now all like 2200 at the lowest. I’m actually going to Maryland tomorrow to pick up a 000-18 and then ill resell it for 400-500 more dollars and get a 0-18.
I would just practice instead. Your right hand and a set of $14 dollar strings are more important than tonewood imo.

definitely agree about the right hand. I thought the left hand was more important before I started playing. A good sounding guitar will make you want to play though and its easier to get sounds that you want you of it, unless you’re playing blues I guess

this, no one else itt knows what they’re talking about, the biggest you can go is 0, OM is a drop already
Martin most /fashion/ but its one of the lesser martins build and sound are really lacking for the price. LAG is relatively unknown but their guitars are decent in their price bracket. Also hard to compare two guitars with different tone woods.
The problem with cutaways isn’t the look, some look fine. It’s that there is no reason to be using the upper frets when playing acoustic. When are you going to be playing past the 14th fret on the low strings? You can already reach the high 3. Especially on a dreadnought that’s shape is for hecking strumming anyway it makes no sense.
that’s what its for? the hecking low strings? I only ever really play to the fifth fret after the 12th fret on the three highest strings. I guess that’s the 17th fret, but you know what I mean. Its a bit of a stretch on my d-18 but its manageable
Yeah it’s for leads and better access to the second octave.

its fun to heck around with the second octave, but im not really sure I like that much in acoustic playing. I just feel like cutaways are for people who are doing boring shredding shit that sounds like shit on acoustic on top of sounding like shit anyway

Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you have to use it.
Why don’t you people just buy things you like, pick the one you like more, you are the one that is going to use it and 99% of time no one is going to even see you with it
Either martin or a gibson, I have no idea what this abomination on the right is and I’ve been playing guitar my whole life.
Name one prominent musician that plays the guitar on the left and I’ll let you blow me.
qc is shit. first thing I notice is that volume and tone knob in the sound hole too, but im autistic. if I were to get a Gibson, id probably get the l00 too
Everyone says that guitar is dead, but anytime I’m talking to a girl and tell her I’m a professional guitarist, it’s as much a panty-wetter now as it’s always been. Being good at an instrument is always going to be way sexier than making beats or some shit.
Can you stupid ass niggas stop talking about stupid shit like if guitars that aren’t symmetric are "fashionable" you can’t even play barre chords this has nothing to do with clothes

Taylor Guitars are better than both.

parlour or 00 are /fashion/. All larger sizes are for the big homo

They are both travel guitars: Martin LX1R and LAG TRAVEL-RC. Though I also like the narrow parlor shape alot i want to decide between the two.
LAG: https://www.lagguitars.com/en_US/products/travel-guitars-acoustic-travel-guitar-gla-travel-rc)

Get the Jerry Cantrell Atone Songwritter signature guitar it’s sick AF
That is hecking ugly.
asymmetrical acoustic guitars may be the least /fashion/ thing in existence.

I like the really sloped shoulder ones like Joan baezs guitar, but can’t find any for the 2000 I want to spend
Only gays aren’t like prince and don’t own 1000 instruments
I pretty much just play one epiphone acoustic. Plugging stuff in is too much of a hassle.
