>100-900 grams
It's usually barely noticeable on a good headset. >motion sickness
Most complaints of this are just memes, the outliers are bad setups and bad implementations. It goes away pretty quickly, just don't do something stupid like smooth turning and your brain won't get nearly as confused about your inner ear liquid not spinning when it should be.
>strap cellphone to face >call it virtual reality
Why is this allowed?
>Lenses and accurate tracking >Smartphone
>metaverse died >lets release a new VR headset!
is this the most retarded business decision of the decade or a contractual agreement that Suckerberg cant get out of?
The metaverse hasn't even started yet, they keep pushing buzzwords for money and hype and all we have is "mini metaverses" that are separate and limited but the real metaverse isn't possible with current hardware yet just like Carmack said.
Metaverse was always going to be something fractured, sort of insular and community driven. It's difficult to imagine corporate bootlicking being capable of competing with a community of autists and enthusiasts pumping out mods and other content.
A publicly traded company just can't realistically support something like a metaverse, especially now that people should be rightfully wary of enshittification and being vendorlocked.
I forgot the quest 3 existed. I have the quest 2 and don't use it anymore. I will wait for vr to be goggles. I'd prefer if goggles were only the screen and it had base stations for tracking and a cable running down to my pc that did all the hardware stuff. I don't want a brick strapped to my head. It's uncomfortable, heavy and the inertia pisses me off
Goggles are a poor form factor, they wear heavily on your ears and nose. Anything serious about comfort and stability supports itself on your forehead, the same thing you use to headbutt other people, so you know it can stand up to the rigors of supporting a headset.
Valve deckard might be announced around meta's connect
I fucking hope so. Wait for Deckard and Valve time have been delaying my acquisition of a new headset.

The Quest 2 is a successful gaming platform despite the memes.
The real danger to them is if Valve releases a good cheap standalone headset but right now they basically have monopoly on the VR gaming market.

Wouldn't AR porn be even more immersive and cooler though? If the high end porn studios are able to make high quality POV scenes with greenscreen, imagine how cool it would be in AR getting your actual cock in the porn and the porn being in your room.
For me, main q2 problem is streaming quality. In some games it looks acceptable (Half-Life for example, i guess, it's because there aren't many open spaces), Some are playable, but not so good as native vr (Far objects in Boneworks is very pixelized). Beat saber is unplayable, i cannot beat levels, which i could beat in standalone mode. I'm using ALVR now and comparing with my old odyssey.
what do people even do on their headsets now?
i look at the steam charts from time to time and there are things on the top seller list that came out when the vive was launched lol.
is just that one counter strike clone and vr chat?
Also the steam charts don't show the occulus store sales. If a game can be run as standalone without pc, people buy it on occulus because the tether cable sucks. The only thing bad is they have nintendo tier pricing because of the closed marketplace. Still though, I got walking dead saints and sinners on my headset not the steam store for example.
pavlov is primarily played by trannies (or children and groomers on the quest version). most people with any sense have moved onto contractors at this point
VR fucking sucks, give me the real world but augmented to be better
>>I want virtual cum
Go back to apple something lens (?)
i can't even use vr as proper escapism because it's so fucking heavy and gives me motion sickness
i get real bad motion sickness if i play anything other than beat saber

Motion sickness is just your vestibular system adapting. You just need to play more and it will eventually subside.

Quest 2 sold more units than PS5

Quest 3 is much lighter than 2.

It's vr chat and movie theater sims and porn.
