Yep you're right, specifically erythrocytosis, which is an increase in red blood cells. Common in early transition but it does subside eventually. They really do be pink

This is wrong and a very naive analysis. The only country where there may be a real genuine shift in attitudes towards tranners is in the UK, where the march is being led by ostensibly respectable politicians and journalists. In the US, anti-trans stuff is becoming more and more associated with rednecks and the far-right, which is why the Republicans did so badly at the mid-terms. More than this, tranny issues are a hot topic right now, but they’re all too easily exposed as hollow and unimportant conversations once you interrogate them. The anti-trans conversation is at its peak now precisely because most people have realised than trans people are really quite uninteresting and that we might as well just respect them. It’s exactly the same as happened with gay marriage. So many gays at the time had your mindset of ‘we’re going too far!’
Honestly, access to HRT and the ability to change your legal gender has increased across the world dramatically even in just the last 10 years. There are respected and loved trans celebrities in many areas of pop culture. The landscape is so much more positive than it was even just in 2010. With more positivity there will always be a surge of negativity from morons and conservatives. All tranners have to do to win is to keep on living, though.
