501s are a bad choice because the anti-fit makes the top block look weird if they’re pulled up too high
Get some vintage Levis 505 or Wrangler Cowboy Cut Slims if you don’t want to bother with vintage shopping. In either case get the pants tapered but not too much bc they’re 100% cotton and you won’t be able to get your leg in if you overdo it
