I can't stand the vocals or the scene. I really want to like punk but it's a grating BPD fest

Punk rock will always be worth my time.
Punk rockers, on the other hand, are a bunch of insufferable incels that I want nothing to do with!

I WISH I WAS HENRY ROLLINS!
There's nothing I'd like more than to scam young people out of their hard earned cash. People who weren't even born when he was still Henry Garfield and playing bass for S.O.A.

But, sadly, I'm not Henry Rollins. I'm just another faceless Anon, shitposting on LULZ just like the Anon I'm responding to.

Punk rock was of a time and of a place, and that time and place has largely passed. As it has for most rock music actually.

When it was a fashion statement more than a genre with any worthwhile substance in its music. When it became more disposable than pop, while being less interesting, experimental, and unnecessarily grating to listen to. When looking punk takes up more time than understanding punk.

Punk rock has always been a bore.
It's mostly music that got some inspiration from punk but actually had good melodies which was better.

Like even Clash realised pure punk was so shit they mixed ska and reggae in their songs. Pure punk like the Pistols has always been a bore.

Most of the Ramones' stuff is boring, except for a few funny tunes.
And hardcore is the worst shit ever.
Also stuff like Black Flag is not even music, it's some roid rage psychotic episodes shouted on the stage.

the oi! subgenre is entirely a Pistols ripoff and it's the only one with real bangers

a few punk-rock, post-punk and oi! tunes will always be classics. it's either good pop or crap.

I thought I completely grew out of punk in my mid 20s when I got deep into studying classical and jazz, but then I saw Iggy Pop live and it was the most fun I had had in years so I decided it was pretty cool after all.
