Could be my mind is warped from experimenting with psychs throughout my 20s, but ever since my first NDE I've been playing around with the idea that perhaps the soul, or whatever our life essence is, somehow taps into a hidden power residing in all humans during such dire encounters: the power to shift realities and continue existing.

In the reality from which you shifted from you are very much dead and the people who care about you miss you dearly, but the one you're in now it's as though nothing ever happened. Looking back on such events tend ti leave you with more questions than answers, and God damn that forbidding feeling like you shouldn't be here, but at least your loved ones aren't sad.

I used to dismiss this idea as just residual psychosis from the psychs I had mentioned, until I learned of a developing metaphysical theory called quantum immortality which is essentially the same idea.

Superposition is freaky. I believe the Schrodinger's cat experiment to be far more telling about our condition than we realize. It's not just the cat that's both alive and dead, it's us too. We just exist in a much bigger box than that cat did/does.

it goes something like this we are swimmers in the multiversal web of gods our collective memory of infinite everything
there is no straight path forward only one backwards so dont get caught up on one reality to much just keep on living in the infinite now and building that trail

NDEs can be induced by G-LOC on fighter pilots during training and are the result of hypoxia. There is nothing paranormal about them. They're just dreams of an oxygen starved brain. You can literally go on YouTube and watch it happen.

Refuted by Greyson and Long. G-loc shares some components, but lacks most of them. Furthermore the experience can occur without hypoxia.

I'm convinced NDE's are so far the most scientific way we can study the afterlife. Ppl are hating on it and saying like it's when the brain releases DMT or when the brain gets starved of oxygen when all that shit has been disproven already.

        Greyson is based.

A trace amount of DMT is processed in the amigdala which creates serotonin sensory hallucinations to ease your passing while your major organs and brain shut down as is natural in death.

your pineal gland has photoreceptors - for what purpose?

The source of consciousness is outside of the body. The body/brain are a receptor.

It is likely the brain is transducing information from outside of it. Here is an interesting read for you friend - https://mindmatters.ai/2021/08/a-neuroscience-theory-that-actually-helps-explain-the-brain/
