In 1258, Georgians participated in the massacre and rapes of Iraqi Sunni Arabs in Baghdad as part of the Mongol Ilkhanate army.

From 1704–1831 Georgian Mamluks ruled over Ottoman Iraq and raped and slaughtered Iraqi Sunni Arabs.

In 2003, Georgian soldiers participated in raping and killing Iraqi Sunni Arabs.

The Georgians and Arnenians raped Arabs in Baghdad in 1258 and in Aleppo and Damascus in 1260 when they accompanied the Mongol army and raped Damascus again in 1299 to 1300 with the Mongols. The Arabs literally said the Georgians were even more brutal than the Mongols in Baghdad and in Damascus the Georgians again were the most brutal and Ibn Taymiyyah begged the Mongols to stop the Georgians.

Georgian Mamluks raped Iraq for a century under then Ottomans.

Circassian Mamluks ruled the Levant, Hejaz (Hijaz) in Arabia and Egypt. They raped Bedouin Arab women and crushed their rebellions.

Another state; in the forms of Abakazia, Colchis, and Iberia + Albania from the Iron Age until modern times that was constantly most of the time vassals, client kingdoms, or provinces of larger and more powerful neighbors. Pre-Hellenistic and post-Hellenistic period, mainly under Iranian suzerainty for a LONG time (Medes, Achaemenids, Parthians, Sassanids, Safavids, Qajars) and later on again with the various Turkic, Mongolic, and Russian empires.

    >What's their history?
Basically being Persia-boos for most of the time, by the Safavid period, Georgia was recognized as one of it important provinces in the empire and Georgian troops were encouraged to join with Ciracassians and native Persians to off-set influence of the Qizlabashi troops.

Apparently there are a ton of Sassanian era glassware, pottery, and gold works in Japan. But no, the ancient Georgians were. Up to the Safavid period, names drawn from the Shahnamah were used very popularily over there.

Their existence for most of history has been endless screaming while they tried to not die to the nearest large empire/steppe nomads.
Unsurprisingly this means they have never really been able to determine their own foreign policy, and thus their meek state.

Mountain dwellers who still have an ancient identity due to just how isolated their geography really is. Unfortunately ended up too close to Muscovy during the era of exploration and ended up communist during the cold war due to that.

Probably every isolated village has its own unique obscure thousand year history due to their medieval era of fragmentation.

Ignore the absolute seething and/or uneducated answers here. Poltard migrants are plague.

Georgia has impressive culture and history overall. It all stars with ancient Iberia and Colchis, colchis itself was cradle of Georgian culture and first state. Ever since fall of old mesopotamia, Georgians often dealt with Persian dynasties, sometimes very successfully.

Their enemies were many since Georgia was chrisian kingdom on the edge of middle east which attracted many muslim hordes to their gates and their territorired was attractive for strategic location and trade hub. This essentially forced Georgians on a path of warrior culture. Mostly they had to fight alone against Romans, Persians mostly, Arabs and other middle eastern emirates, Tukric hordes and then persians untill Russians arrived. Georgian golden age spanned from late XI to early XIII centuries, when they dominated Caucasus and turned into regional power, but that was ended, when Mongols invaded.
After 1490, united kingdom of Georgia stopped existing and turned into small fractured kingdoms, which continued endless struggle against overpowered Persia and Ottoman empires, again with some success and also with some defeats, despite awful centuries and minkr economic developments, fractured kingdoms remained and conducted many economic activities while picking up many impressive millitary victories

      >Even since the fall of old mesopotamia, Georgians often dealt with Persian dynasties, something very successfully.
The Mihranids and Chosroids were both dynasties set up in Georgian states as client rulers of the Persians. Most of the time Iberia and Colchis were either vassals under the Sassanians. Iberia itself had already been annexed since the late 300s.

Mihranids never ruled georgian kingdom of Iberia, their cadet branch, house Chosroid did, which were first feudal rulers of Iberia itself. Colchis wasnt mostly under Sassanian Persia, Iberia on the other hand regained Kingdom in late 500s, But soon, Arabs invaded in 645. Colchis still remained distant and close to Byzantines with their sovereignty intact. Iberia was always a client state to Persia but Gurgens unseccessful insurrection led to fall of Kingdom and annexation in 532, not 300s, which was then revived in 591 under Prince Stephanoz. His son Stephanoz II would face Arabs then.

          >Mihranids never ruled Iberia
          >363-627 AD
Shapur II literally put Mirian III as a child on the Iberian throne and made the cadet branch of the House of Mihran into Iberian kings.Mihranids became known as the Chosroids in Iberia. A century or so after this, the Chosroids were nominal vassal kings while the Persian governors, usually direct members from House Mihran in Persia, were made marazbans (provincial governor-generals) of Iberia. After Bakur III died, the Sassanians abolished the Chosroid kings completely. The cadet branch of the Chosroids, the Guramids, were pro-Roman but even under Maurice I, Georgia remained completely divided like Armenia between them and the Persians and Tsibli was still in Persia's hands with Stephen I until his death against Heraclius.
          >in 532
The de jure/de facto abolishing of the Georgian royal family as heads of Iberia already started in the late 5th century. It was simply officially transcribed by the Persians in 580 AD after Bakur III's death.

Don't think so. In both Old Persian and Middle Persian (Pahlavi) languages as well as Parthian and even Armenian, the root words all share in IE for vrkan, meaning wolves or wolf.
