        Literally just Sicily?

As it turns out conquering an area does not mean mass migration for centuries to the region.

Forget the north. Even the current day Italians have very little to do with Romans.
Germs destroyed any semblance of Patrician blood they had centuries ago.

We have now a lot of ancient samples from Europe. Wewuzing is becoming more and more absurd. The Italic-Etruscan Iron Age cluster is pretty well defined already and every new study only confirms it.

when people talk about Rome they mean the metal armors, emperorz, empire, marble temples, homosexuals, etc..

Now you get what political/elites maps mean.

It is like the Mongol, Ottoman or AlAndalus map. They show places where they went or the raids they did or the political regime they impossed, but this does not mean almost nothing from a demographic point of view.

Political maps of the past are just made-up generalizations made by Historians to try to explain history.

The % of Roman blood in UK or NorthAfrica is negligible, probably almost inexistent despite the centuries of Roman rule.
The % of ottoman, mongol, nafri blood in Eastern-Central Europe or Iberia is almost inexistent or negligible.

Do people really believe that millions (or hundred of thousands Romans went to live to all areas of UK)? Millions or hundreds of thousands mongols, ottomans, or nafris went to live to all areas of Eastern Europe or Iberia? Not at all. Some tens of thousands lived in the main spots (main capitals of the time or main geopolitical spots) but most of the people never saw a roman, a mongol, an ottoman or a nafri ever during centuries.

Turks did change Anatolian genetics, Slavs and Germans had an impact on South Europe, Turko-Mongols obviously changed a lot of Central Asian ancestry.

But those were basically demographic invasions. I am talking about geopolitical rule: romans, mongols, AlAndalus, etc.

It is like if I went to New York with my friends and some Historian paint the USA as mine in the future just because I used to be there and rule it.

But this has little to do with Romans but with Neolithic farmers. Romans barely had 3-4 spots in Eastern Spain. I highly doubt that they were more than 0-1% of the total population of the area. There are no chronicles saying that hundred of thousands of Romans were going to live to Iberia. Just a few burocrats, soldiers, and little else.

Yes, it's a coincidene. Modern Italians are too East Med shifted to be closest to ancient Latins or Etruscans.

These kind of references using 4-5 people to try to represent a several million people empire means little.

Who were these "ITA_Urbino-1555" 1556 1557 ? Maybe they were from the same area, or from the same family, or just visitors, or from a certain ethnicity. Unless we have like 200 references we can´t take conclussions about something as big as the Roman Empire.

It is like the 6-7 individuals that were found in a muslim cemetery in AlAndalus. Some people use this reference to try to portrait how AlAndalus looked like and even to try to sell the fake idea of massive mixing in all of Iberia.
