What's the point of this?

Is a credit score really just nothing more than a psyop to carrot and stick you into paying your debts?

I don't think there are any more benefits after like ~750. It's just a plain "are you going to pay me back" score.

I'm 30 years old and have like 50 credit cards that I paid off end of 2021 after using them to buy Bitcoin since 2018. The credit card companies literally are losing money on me and have to go out of their way to close my accounts that I don't use because it costs them money to report my $0 balance lmao

    it really is fuckin meaningless
i mean yeah if your credit score is shit you won't get any loans
but it's not like having a 800+ score is gonna unlock low interest rates. you get no benefit from it

This. I’m 36, unmarried, make 6 figures, always low debt, always paid back my debts (a few cars, CC, etc) and without fail, every time I go to finance a car I get shitty, outrageous rates from every lender. It’s like my 820 credit score meant nothing to them. It’s just an on/off switch of: “will they pay me back?” If yes, rape them with interest. If no, decline the loan.

You're supposed to go to a credit union for auto loan nagger, I got my sub 3% rate at end of 2021 with a lower score than you

What is your credit high? I've known plenty of 800+ retards who never financed big amounts or don't have enough lines of credit open that can't get the proper rate

Car business anon here, credit score is underestimated by many, any subprime clients that get an approval end up paying 4 times the fucking car cost. Housing becomes even less affordable, because you will really feel the impact of 2-3% apr on a 200-300k loan. Not to mention that you don't know when you will need to bother money, remember lunatards from last May.

It somewhat held true when 850 was the max, now you can score up to 900. One of my prime banks considers low sevens to be their bottom tier.

      >Already got my sub 3% loan on my ultra reliable lexus with payments dragged out 7 fucking years
      >I don't want to baghold a box to live in and pay property taxes when I could just use that money to put into assets so I'll just stay in my comfy 2bedroom apartment in a desirable area away from naggers

It tells lenders how likely you are to repay. It's not 1850. Your word isn't good enough, Billy Bob.

I honestly have a great credit score but it hasn't nothing to do with me caring about my credit score and has to do with all my bill being set up in auto redraw /min payment
