my 5:4 monitor because it's now priceless
My car?
Paid $5k for it pre-pandemic and it's worth quite a bit more now.
Never let anyone convince you to buy a new car, used cars are an excellent investment once they've reached the bottom of the depreciation cycle.
A zoomer on /int/ a few weeks ago was saying he was buying his first car for $11,000 with 100,000 miles on it. That was the best deal he could get.
>used cars are an excellent investment during those random few years of crysis every century
do you also hold crypto?
It’s true. I got a $8600 2009 Acura in 2018 with 154k and it has been fantastic through the pandemic. I’ve had to do minimal work on it and just this year changed the radiator and brake fluid for the first time. Great car.
I have a 1996 subaru legacy I bought in 2006 for 5k. Still runs fine and until some woman driver hits it, it'll always run.
My dad's 03 outback finally kicked the bucket
Lot of history in that car
Could have fixed the oil leak but that required dropping the engine and it's just not worth it
oil leak in subaru is very common and mine has had one for like 20 years but it just requires maybe $5 extra of oil every 3000-5000 miles or so
My POWER9 server.
my house
why is the desk so expansive? Money laundering?
Assuming my PC as a whole doesn't count, then I'm afraid my Mac Mini.
My iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Nice larp.
my mac mini, was almost 800 eur when I bought it. come to think of it, it is the most xpensive thing I own, period.
that desk is probably very wobbly
and it says the max load is 165 lbs but i don't believe that
like all the load is being taken by these fasteners
Probably my main desktop computer
Probably my desktop, but it’s almost 10 years old now.
pg279, still not good as the crt
GTX1080
expensive tech is overrated
Digital piano
$2500
Is a chair technology? If so my now $1700 Herman Miller Aeron probably.
Otherwise, in terms of single piece of tech probably my 55” LG OLED TV.
dsox3054a
$10k Oscilloscope. Had a lab fire at work and the thing had some melted plastic. Still worked, but no one wanted to rely on a "potentially damaged" piece of hardware so they were gonna chuck it
it's great knowing/working for companies like that. So much great free shit goes into the trash.
Probably a grow light
Although prices have dropped so hard in the last few years its not worth nearly as much as I paid for it.
my server cpu retails for $9000 but I got it used on ebay for $150 if that counts
Probably my stereo, when it's all together it's a few thousand worth of stuff
My home's solar installation about $15k
Not counting my cars because I would like to rip out everything but the engine computer, until then do I really own it?
>My home's solar installation about $15k
reddit spacing so I assume you didn't do it yourself.
Installing a good solar system is only a few thousand
