I live in the cesspool known as New York. I once went to a hot dog stand in Manhattan and they wanted me to pay them $25 for a single hot dog. I obviously passed but they wouldn't charge it if dumb tourists weren't paying. Then again, they probably have to charge that much because they have to pay a permit to park in the area and they have to hold a license (which comes with more fees).
