The pirate book Crichton wrote but was released after he died.

That one sucks- he never finished it. They just slapped a cover on a sloppy copy.

it's still pretty hilarious, since it's more or less an outline that's being filled in.

I’ve always been suspicious that super prolific writers use ghost writers

Well, King absolutely sells his little review bites. I just tune them out.

Definitely there are a lot of ghostwritten books out there, but I really think King writes all his own stuff. I think he has stated that he writes around 2k relatively clean words per day, and if you do the math on it, that adds up. And if your full time job is writing, getting 2k words per day isn't all that crazy.

The thing is, professional ghost writers are far more prolific than the average author. They're doing, minimum, 12 books a year consistently.

I'll be that one guy who requests a Dean Koontz book just to annoy the cashiers I don't even like Dean Koontz

So how good is your local airport bookshop now? The last book I bought from mine was McCarthy's The Passenger to read on a flight. It used to be fairly trashy with best sellers but they've got a decent small selection of classics now but it's mostly entry level High School tier lit

Koontz rules though. He's kind of redpilled.

I've heard word on the street that Phantoms was da bomb so I will probably check that out. Always saw him as a discount King

I think he's kind of got that reputation, but I like him a lot more than King, and his politics are a lot less annoying. King is boomer liberal Biden voter who loves quoting Elton John songs. Koontz is boomer libertarian gun nut who can't shut up about his golden retriever. They're both perverts, but what can you do?

I just don't care about wheter a author is "on my team" and no matter how many times you post about it i'm never going to.

This. Lots of anons just use writers as avatars for their political views don’t they? Very shallow and superficial
