Remove the franchise system and allow non-franchise clubs to join (if they can afford it)

      Also:
      >Have a proper pyramid like
      >Pro-rel

      Based

I'd also instill pro/rel. If you get relegated to USL and your money goes bye bye, not my problem.

      Definitely this

Or take inspiration from European club names but actually understand how they are composed first
Instead of shit like Real Salt Lake you could call a team Utah Salt Lake or Salt Lake Valley, which follow existing patterns but do it correctly

Also ban the display of political symbols in and around stadiums are based ideas too

The biggest issue with MLS's structure is that the owners have too much control
It's a big issue with American sports really. The owners control everything and restrict the ability to build rosters so they don't have to shell out as much. Problem is literally everyone in MLS is worth 9 figures; most are worth much more than that.
There's no real incentive to win. Some do spend and try; think Atlanta has spent like hundreds of millions of dollars. But then you have teams like the Rapids, owned by Arsenal and LA Rams owner Kroneke, spends absolutely no money and finished first in the West.

Draft is pretty dumb, and MLS needs something to punish bad teams in the season.

I'm not saying that should be relegation exactly, but they need to do something.

The root of MLS problems lies in the fact that is is built and predicated upon the American sports model. This is fine for all of our other major sports leagues that don’t have any competition but for soccer this is just daft and stupid and greatly limits what the league can feasibly achieve.
        >draft
        >salary cap
        >no relegation
        >ability to move teams whenever (this is a problem with all American sports not just soccer)
        >shit TV deal

      >remove political messages

I'd leave that to the clubs. If the Sounders want to be Fag FC or BLM United that's their business. MLS should just regulate the sport, not have league-wide homosexualry campaigns

Give each state their own league. This equals 900 clubs at the highest level. Bankroll the league with 100 billion so that each club gets roughly 100 million over a span of 5 years. TV deal revenue is distributed evenly for the regular leagues, so all clubs get a similiar payout each year, premier league style. This will allow to let the new clubs of each league to grow consistently over the next years. The sum sounds like a lot but this is america. Who if not you guys can do it? If you vote for Trump i bet he would give you some tax money too.
Establish the US World Champions League, which has higher tv money pay outs than the Champions league but its a tournament that is played after the regular league not inbetween. The winner is the US World Champion of that year.
Get rid of all retarded squad rules, free market, european model, max squad of 25 with the exception of youth players, 6 homegrown players required, other than that buy the shit out of the latinamerican market.

    >Eliminate divisions amd playoffs

The only way that this country gets good at the sport is to make poor people play it. Poor people are mot going to play the sport unless the national league is appealing to them. The national league will mot be appealing to them until those in charge stop making a white college educated fantasy land

It's not that expensive to train prospective players.

A good way is having a selection and a paid academy. If the kid pass selection (they don't need to be part of the academy to take part), they can train and have some type of allowance to motivate them.

The thing is investing in good poor people, not everyone.

This is pretty much how we do it. The poor in the US play basketball though. It also only takes a ball, but you can play on a much smaller area and only need one goal. You can also play 1-on-1 up to 5-on-5. Getting enough kids together for meaningful soccer games really requires some sort of organized arrangement, which means youth soccer is still middle/upper-middle class.

But part of the reason the US has stopped being complete ass at the sport is because MLS teams all are required to run academies. They can comb their regions for talent, and facilitate getting those kids overseas for actual training. Guys like Zack Steffen, Haji Wright, Brenden Aaronson, Paul Arriola, Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, Tim Weah, Reggie Cannon and Joe Scally all were in MLS academies. Turns out you can out-garden gnome the garden gnomes if you tell them finding kids, making them good, then selling them to Europe is a great way to make money.

One thing they do here in Brazil is play the so called "travinha".

It is basically little goalposts that don't need goalkeepers, and you can play basically anywhere.

And, after that, futsal is also pretty popular.

It is basically soccer in a volleyball/basketball court with some differences. Every school has one of those here.

Literally every small park or place where kids might be has a basketball half-court. My local club has been building "mini-pitches" though trying to give kids an alternative. There's an effort, but a century of culture isn't going to change.

Soccer is a rich white kids sport in the US. In my highschool the only sports that were free to play were football and basketball because they made money. The boosters clubs would still guilt your parents into volunteering though. Soccer, lacrosse, baseball, you had to supply your own gear and pay an upfront cost.
