part of the batch of recent ‘mature black artist’ wave of albums and photo shoots post-Black Panther. i haven’t listened to it. he’ll recover and do a cool album again. he’s almost there, but hasn’t made a ye-level classic on that level of ye at his best. he’s come close but no dice

not 7558, however to be fair, when talking about the shoot with the Mona Lisa, both Jay and Beyonce talked about taking over 'white spaces' and placing themselves firmly in that culture. Whilst its hardly existential - it was a flex to basically close down a gallery and have an all black crew do the shoot.
im not suggesting they want all white people dead - lets be honest its how they get paid - but there is often a subtext of "were here what you gonna do about it". for some people - like me - what im gonna do is shrug. But i can understand why some people are more sensitive to it.

nothing you can do can disguise your /misc/-influenced internal perspective.

"Taking over" spaces and "placing themselves firmly" in spaces are not equivalents.

While I disagree with the cultural opposition in their black supremacy shoot and choice of place, Jay Z is shit on the merits and is merely a mimicry of white or established business/industry immorality.

                >im not suggesting they want all white people dead
But you're ridiculous for even suggesting that that would be conceivably suggestible, and that's what gives you away.

                >i can understand why some people are more sensitive to it.
"some people"..."more sensitive to it" is a nice attempt at gaslighting. Pretending or actually experiencing racial existentialism from status quo class gesturing is purely white supremacist and nothing else, and you know that.

Your diplomacy and familiarity on the matter shows you are somewhat reasonable. Continue on that path and come out on the other side.

he got too cocky in damn
and overly confident in Morale, putting out a rushed, bland album in hopes of breaking his creative block and finally getting that out of the way

Nothing. Its a good album even if its not something I'd go out of my way to listen too. If this was his only album then I would be a little more critical but he has plenty of bangers. He has plenty of leeway to put out an album like this.

But it also dropped like 2 days after my dad died and I really vibed with father time so my opinion isnt really objective

Nothing, it's his second best work behind GKMC.
It just wasn't a pop hip hop singles machine like DAMN or pretentious critic-bait like TPAB, so the fans on both sides felt cheated.

became a white hating black man. there's a song on there about fucking a white girl just to get back to white cops arresting his uncle when he was a kid.

maybe don't race bait your target audience, dipshit. i know he can't handle having white people show up to his concerts but for fuck sake.

Sky high expectations after TPAB. If critics are claiming you just dropped the greatest hip hop album of all time that's going to be a lot to live up to and almost impossible to match
