What to do with 50k and should I wait?

I'm sitting on 50k insurance cash right now after my mobile home burned down (I own the land outright though). Currently staying at my mom's place. She's aware of the markets and has said I can take as long as I need before moving back out. I know nobody knows whether the market is going to crash or not, so I guess I'm just asking if I'm being smart by waiting. I'm eventually going to get another mobile home put on the same spot, but I don't know about how long I should wait. Or maybe there's something way better I can do with 50k cash because I'm probably never ever going to have this much money on hand ever again in my life. Advice LULZ?

Until you have a clear plan stick it all until SPY so you can at least make 12% a year rather than lose to inflation

Perhaps. I just don't want to stay here at my mom's for even 6 months, but I think at the absolute longest, I'll hold on for a year. I think I would develop some kind of mental illness being stuck here for too long.

Fuck I wish I had even 5k you lucky sob

My brother in biz, you ain't lying. I thank God for my incredible fortune. I guess if it's any consolation, I lost everything I ever owned, burnt the shit out of my feet and had to live through hell healing up and now have 30k in medical bills (but good luck getting that out of me)

as far as the medical bills, now might be a good time to look into personal bankruptcy. if you have less than $25-30k worth of total property (say you spend some of that $50k just not having a job), you can wipe out the debt for free. i dont know how much your land is worth though.

Well there's a chance the medical debt is cleared because I applied for charity through the hospital. Gonna see what comes of that. Also, technically the property is in my mom's name so I own practically nothing at all. It was all lost. Hell. The 50k is technically my mom's but she's already said it was for me to use. I'm a broke back bitch with a face down trap card. I didnt even consider bankruptcy, but that is an option I suppose. Thanks for the idea.

no problem. i declared chapter 7 last year without using a lawyer. it was a week’s worth of research and paperwork but aside from that it was surprisingly easy.

I've lived in a concrete tube in a construction site because I was homeless and running from the police, I've lost my home in the last crash and lost my family, he's a lucky bastard.

Nah. 9 acres in the woods 10 minutes from a small town with a really nice trailer. I was and still am very fortunate.

I'm extremely jealous. What kind of attachments do you have? If you're trying for a family I would wait for a home, but if you're by yourself with no prospects, I would stick a tiny home on that land and start bee keeping and branch out from there. Seed some local berry species, make preserves and all natural mead. Berries attract wildlife to hunt also.
Could be a good time until shit blows over.

Not my picture. I googled 50k cash.

if you want to buy an asset i would go with VTI or maybe even VTV, the 2nd being more conservative. if you try to buy individual stocks, sectors, or crypto there is a chance you get rugpulled very badly, for instance if the ukraine war ends tomorrow that could crash oil, if we get a piece of bad china news that could crash semiconductors. the democrats could decide to cap drug prices which would hurt healthcare... blah blah blah. the market as a whole is undervalued though and you could probably make some money in the short term if you bought vti, and feel comfortable that if the trade went badly against you that at least you have a good asset that will recover within a few years, whereas if you take on more risk with individual stocks, sectors, or crypto, you could get seriously rugpulled or scammed by the garden gnomes and lose that money which seems to be important to you.
honestly though since you're asking you should just buy the stuff you need and start investing with what is leftover after seeking some professional advice because the people here are dumb as fuck and listening to them will almost guaranteed lose you a lot of money.

I figured as much. I greatly appreciate the advice. I'm not about to take any kind of serious risk with this stuff. I'm the kind of guy who's happy with the bare basics so I really just want a home. But if I can get a cheap home then that's all the much better. Figured maybe I could wait a few months and see house prices plummet a bit and buy a nice new trailer for cheap.

good luck getting sound financial advice on this board, kek. as far as the markets go, the ~~*black swans*~~ are coming faster than ever these days, may as well just stay with your mom until a good opportunity pops up. holding cash during this inflation might suck, but i wouldnt trust any investment these days with my house money.

don't spend it or put it in bullshit
take atleast half and put it somewhere you can't touch (not crypto) as a rainy day fund so you never have to worry about being broke again

take 10% and piss it away on risky LULZ ventures
take the rest of it and buy gold and store it in a bank vault so other blacks doesn't steal it

sure you want to invest (gamble) all of it? it's your home, basically. maybe use it to learn something that will pay greater dividends long term so you will be self sufficient. once you do that, then gamble. jesus.
