Why?
I'd say it's more common for girls other than the male leads romantic interest to have better chemistry with him than the opposite. Other girls are allowed to have meaningful interaction since they won't be around for long. While the main couple is dragged on forever since it's being saved for the end of the show. Though I think Kou and Nina had decent chemistry when they were working on the Gundam together. It was just all thrown away for drama.
At least best boy got best girl.
>Can't beat that...
a chad and his queen, god bless
She's a gorilla and he's a useless pussy
Still better than Kou and Nina.
Stuf chud

Stfu, discord trannies
Stfu chud
Your mom has a useless pussy since she gave birth to you.
>She's a gorilla
So she's got that gorilla grip?
literally vomit inducing
Apt observation. The "will they, won't they" kills the relationships rather than elevates them.
>Apt observation. The "will they, won't they" kills the relationships rather than elevates them.
I mean I don't really feel like that's the issue in of itself so much even so much as that most of the time they don't allow the main pair to have any chemistry at all let alone even non romantically. The hero is always some dense pud and the heroine is just "pure maiden." Typically. Not here of course. But in general. They're you know the boring Belldandy types.
has better romantic chemistry with the male lead than the actual female lead
No she didn't.
Nina and Kou had great chemistry in the earlier episodes.
People seem to forget all that because of how badly she turns out.
>Nina and Kou had great chemistry in the earlier episodes
That just makes it worse.
Its a shame she's so much better than nina
I mean that's not really a high bar.
What Gundam romances DID have good chemistry? Fa and Kamille?
cute cute CUTE!
Still the peak Gundam romance. I love how the entire show just gets in the way of them just wanting to be together after a certain point. Garrod and Tiffa don't give a shit about Newtypes or their evolutionary potential bullshit and just want to be a couple. You genuinely end up just wanting to see them together again to spite all of the background political garbage.
And Garrod never treated her like trash or took her for granted until the last minute either unlike G Gundam with Domon and Rain.
*worst Gundam romance
Kihel and Harry. Shockingly Tomino never even intended them as a couple. Staff apparently too the wrong message and it just stuck.
God...this ship was cringe/forced & it felt like ntr. I shipped loran & kahel as well as dianna too.
>felt like ntr
God shut the fuck up. Loran wasn't in love with Kahel and vice versa.
He was in love with dianna whom looks exactly like kahel. See? ntr.
KIHEL AND DIANA WERE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHY ARE YOU MOTHERFUCKERS SO GODDAMN RETARDED AND BRAINROTTED BY PORN JESUS Christ
The rule 34 of them is indeed really great!
He was devoted to Diana and saw Kahel as a surrogate, but it was never love in the romantic sense. He was in love with Sochie, and she with him. But it was never to be because of said devotion.
Nice headcanon.
What headcannon? It's the obvious takeaway. Why else would he be jealous when Sochie was marrying the suicide squad captain? And they always had chemistry. The kiss at the end should have clued you in.
He chose to spend his life as Diana's servant, but it was an obvious "if things were different we would be together" type of thing.
He wasn't jealous when she was marrying Gavane; that was literally the point. The scene of him living with Dianna beyond her having a conspicous ring also leaves the obvious question of "why does he have to be celibate to serve" if that is your interpretation. There's no real reason he can't be a married servant if he did love Sochie. I wouldn't even say they have chemistry personally either, and basically every scene between them that tries to be more than friendship is Sochie trying to leverage her position as Loran's master to force something romantic and him not seeing or wanting more.
That too. https://twitter.com/feezy_feez/status/1370192823358693377
> As for Sochie... Tomino unfortunately doesn't offer much solace. Basically, she knows that Loran cares for her but she's not who he's in love with. Knowing this, she begrudgingly allows him to be with Dianna
Tomino's word on it in his Turn A book is that while he wanted it to be somewhat ambiguous whether Loran and Dianna's relationship was platonic or romantic (servile isn't one he foresaw), he's less ambiguous about how he wanted to frame the Sochie relationship.
Well that sucks. I still prefer my interpretation
Sure, it's one a lot of people come to despite Tomino's intentions; including a lot people working on supplementary stuff like manga and games. I think Sochie ends up waiting for Loran in the Shigeru Satou novels for instance, but the novels are pretty different all along the way and not just that one ending detail. It's just interpretation at the end of the day, and I doubt Tomino would be adverse to people having that interpretation despite his original intentions; it's just people going "NO, Sochie WAS his one true love and his feelings for Dianna COUDN'T be anything but servile" and even making up things like "she was given that ring earlier in the show by Will Game" that are kind of annoying. Basically trying to enforce that their interpretation is the only acceptable one. A thing that's come up far too often here over the years in my experience, so I was more defensive than I needed to be by saying it was just "headcanon".
Personally I don't see it, and while I can cerainly see where one might come to the conclusion that Dianna and Loran are just platonic friends, I've never gotten the servile one and despite liking Sochie, I think her ending up with Loran would actively undermine her character arc in the show. It's just interpretation though, so if you don't, then don't. Just don't be an ass about it, really.
>He was in love with Sochie, and she with him
Unfortunately, Tomino disagrees
Bellri should have just gone ahead anyway.
Kira and Lacus. The best Gundam couple.
Any time these two are on screen together there is palpable hatesex energy and I love it.
>Fa and Kamille?
No, it was way too melodramatic, they didn't feel like genuine lovers.
The only time Gundam has focused on building up a romance plot and made it work was X.
Aside from that Alia and Reiji were cute too.
Conversely I would say that Garrod and Tiffa didn't feel like an actual romance because there was basically no tension or normal human emotion between them as people; they just loved one another and that was that. It was a very flat and one dimensional relationship. I don't like tons of melodrama like 0083's back half or anything, but Gundam X is just the other extreme where there's basically no human emotion in the relationship at all and it might as well be a fairytail "happily ever after" or something.
>but Gundam X is just the other extreme where there's basically no human emotion in the relationship at all
THE HUMAN TOUCH
Conversely I would say you're an idiot. They're not a real romance because they don't bumble fuck like a bunch of retards? Because they don't have fake tension? That's completely asinine. Not every romance needs to be some dumbass will they won't they bullshit. It's perfectly fine for two people to just like each other without being dumbasses about it. And frankly I wish more anime were like that.
So you're saying you're prefer the romcom style couples and their 500 chapters of back-and-forth before they actually get to be a couple (and often not even then)?
No, I'm saying that I prefer relationships with some actual tension and drama in them, which you can have outside "will they, won't they"; especially if it's obvious from the start that "yes, they will" and they become a couple part way into the show anyway. Which wasn't present in Garrod and Tiffa's relationship. They become a couple and were basically eternally happy, with only external problems keeping them apart. At no point was there any tension from internal dynamics based on them having differing desires, needs, viewpoints on things etc that resulted in them acting like an actual couple as they try to work through their differences and making their relationship stronger because of those differences.
shit thread but also further proof the average /m/ poster doesn't understand women at all mainly because he never had a girlfriend and probably never will
