What the fuck is business dominant???

I just got a job working security at a high end fetish club/love hotel and in the email sent to new employees says security must wear "Black on black business dominant" attire.

What the heck does that mean?

The owner is some gay persian bottom who from the email is a certified psycho. But the job pays really well even if its some eyes wide shut shit.

At the interview I saw some of the security staff. They were all wearing black blazer or suit jacket with either dress shirts or turtle necks. The only thing I have is from my h/s graduation and there is no way it will fit me now. I’m pretty sure I can fake it with the other rules until I can sus out what I should wear on the day to day. But for now I have till the 16th to shop.

Holy hecking red flags batman. If that’s real you should run. That sounds like some bohemian grove, human trafficking type place…

That drugstore scent thing thing however was based as heck…

        >Sounds like you’re working at an S&M club
        Yup.

Its the uniform, not my choice.

Yea, but it pays REALLY well. And its close to my apartment.

Kinda, the first floor is a night club with 2 bars. Floors 2-4 are hourly rental hotel rooms with both normal rooms and fetish/bdsm themed rooms. And then there is a penthouse with a catwalk for fashion shows on the top floor.

The kinky scene is a good gig. People with a lot of money that are willing to pay top dollar for professional, discreet and restrained security.
If you can keep your cool with a lot of people hecking you should stick with it, don’t get hecked out of a really promising career by LULZ autists who are afraid of sex.

You wear an all-black suit that makes you look dominant.

Can you get a nice fitted suit for a good price or do you have to go to a tailor and pay out the ass?

I don’t mind dropping $300-400 on a nice suit jacket, but if I need 3 of them and they are $1000 each that’s going to be difficult. Especially with the dry cleaning costs…

It depends if you are a normal shaped human….

You can get a good looking suit for under $200 but if you are some sort of 7ft tall mutant with delts the size of loaves of bread you will need to go to a tailor. I’m guessing the latter since you are working as up end security.

I would recommend getting something cheep and talking to the other bouncers who work there.

Actually, you may be able to get a plus sized suit from a thrift store re-tailored to fit you. Alterations are not as expensive as most people think. I got a set of dress pants hemmed for like $7 at an asian dry cleaners. They did a good job too.

Ok, you got me curious, I’ll bite.

How big are you to work high end security and how much does a fetish club bouncer make?

Just go to mens warehouse or Joseph a banks and get a couple. I wouldn’t get a slim fit one. I’d get a full cut one that has some stretch. I don’t know what you’ll be doing but if you have to throw someone out or carry out a person ODing, you won’t want a nice fitted wool suit that will tear

This isn’t even that bad what the heck why are you all b***hing so much?
      >Don’t wear shitty deodorant
      >Don’t wear accessories that can be a hazard for yourself or others
      >Wear all black like any other hecking bouncer
      What hecking red flags?
anyway get an outfit from Zara and you’re done

Seems pretty normal outside of the "no shitty convenience store deo" part which is probably just because he had bad experiences with people going way overboard with them before.
He’s being very clear about the dress code and expectations, that’s miles better than not saying and then giving you shit for not divining how you are supposed to dress yourself.

Not OP but I think it has more to do with not making the place look cheap.

      >black lace up boots, suede or leather

Yeah, don’t choose suede lol, I wouldn’t dare getting suede boots within a 100 feet of a place like this

What would happen if you asked the owner for additional clarification on the dress code?
You could also just go into the business and talk to some of the employees.
Let them know you’re going to be joining them and you wonder what they wear and what you should buy.
Usually they will try to help you.

Get a RTW dark charcoal suit so you can use it outside your job unlike a black suit. Buy a pair of cheap black boots if you are starting out with not much money and you aren’t a /boot/ enthusiast.
Ask your boss if you need to wear a black shirt or a white shirt.
Never buy clothing just for work unless it’s a dirty job, bouncers don’t often get into fights that will get you dirty you will mostly beat weak drunk losers by just pushing them onto the ground.

Alright, good stuff. I’ll see if I can get in contact with someone before my first day. I’ve worked venue security before. You will get puked on, it’s just part of the job.

Ok, you got me curious, I’ll bite.

      6’9" 270lb
I was a discuss division champion in college. So quite large.

Starting wage is $24.50/hour plus tips. But goes up to $28 after a full year without incident. ($1 per 3 months)

In comparison working night clubs/venues was $12/hour plus you weren’t allowed to keep tips.

what color shirts were they wearing, the people you interviewed with. if they were wearing black, i wouldnt wear charcoal. ur boss is a psycho gay iranian, you should be doing as he says dress wise.
        >BLACK ON BLACK

then buy a mall trash suit, any wool will get ruined by the acidity of vomit.

Just get a well fitting (not too slim) black poly suit from H&M or something.
You will want something you can move around in easily that you are perfectly okay with getting dirty and hecked up on the regular without feeling bad about it.

If you roll up there with a tailored expensive wool suit it will just get ruined the second some heckwit decides to start shit and grabs you, I imagine getting drinks spilled on you will be more common than you’d like too.
With a poly suit you can rub your sleeve against any dirt it might collect and it will go out relatively easily without having to do dry cleaning every few days and if it really gets trashed, hey, your suit jacket was like 50$ at worst so it’s not the end of the world.

    $28 is pretty good tbh.

you are not gigantic, you’ll be fine.
avoid h&m tho, there is nothing that will fit you….

      Its not that interesting…

I am a large human male. My cousin (who as well is a large human male) got me a job working security at a music festival. I made friends who after the music festival had ended invited me to work part time at a shitty night club. It worked well as I was going to collage at the time and so I could work from 9:00pm to 2:00 am and still sleep my way through the classes.

Got into a fight, got fired, got a new job at a bar, quit, got a better job at a golf course country club, hated the owner, quit, and so on and so forth.

fast forward to the beginning of April. I was out of work and considering a new career path. checking the online job listings. Saw the post looking for security saw the pay was much better than I expected. And the place was about 3 train stops away from my apartment. They were looking for someone with a little more experience but I applied anyway. Got a message about a week later asking me to do a virtual interview. The interview lasted about 5 minutes, they said they would get back to me. I thought for sure I hecked it up and went back to searching. Got a call the next day wanting me to come in for an in-person interview.

The place is pretty fancy, sandwiched between 2 much larger buildings just on the edge of downtown. I met Victor (the assistant head of security) outside and he led me around to the employee entrance as there was a line at the front door. We chatted in the break room for about 10 minutes, he explained how exclusive the club was and what was expected of me, then he said "if you want the job its yours".

      I said yes.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. If you care at all Ill come back in a couple of weeks and post my experience so far.
