I'm one of those and I graduated from university years ago. There were courses where I'd pick up the book the day before, flip through it in 30 minutes, decide that it's gay shit and drink some beer instead and then went to the test and passed.

Currently studying for the LSAT. I'm using the 25/on 5/break method and it works pretty well. Definitely best to set up a space for yourself to study. Having a drink helps too. Water, coffee, or tea are generally the best.
flash cards stick best with me. notes writing is useless by comparison, save for being a quick reference point. Only so much room in the inn however, so I flash card things that I really care about and notetake the stuff that doesn't need to be on instant recall.

Writing is always helpful. Taking readable notes you review for 30 mins each day. Being sober. Exercising. Persistent schedule.

Persistent diet with a balance of food conducive to your dna like I’ve noticed I respond well to light carbs twice a day with alternating meats with white rice. Get blood work done to see which vitamins you’re lacking but a catch all is to do a daily vitamin semi-regularly until you know how your body reacts. Everybody needs more magnesium or don’t give a fuck until you end up like 100% of people and their hindsight bias. Also the nature of self help is to keep you in guidance mode instead of preservation mode. Inb4 thread gets nuked by a sweaty
Studying daily (as opposed to less frequent but longer sessions) and actually doing things is the best. Trying to learn a language? Do it every day and try to regularly write your own small crappy stories using all the words you have learned.
