I agree. I just wonder what dress codes should be if you're building a church. I think the above is good though.

They aren't real catholics, I dont know why thru call themselves that. If you don't accept the papacy just be protestant.

Their logic is they think the church abandoned them not that they abandoned the church so they are the "restorationists" trying to restore the old religion.

It's pretty much just modern Anglicanism. Catholic in theology but rejects papacy.

          Anonymous

True but some of them don't know if they will come back or not. Some think the Papacy will be empty forever others don't know if it will be empty forever or not. They are Catholic in theology but reject some of the tenants of the church. They reject the modernism of the church. Unlike Protestants, they aren't Sola Scriptura but they believe they can interpret all the church documents by themselves because there is no Pope and they can declare which documents are infallible and which ones are not.

          For example they reject

          1. Baptism of desire and baptism of blood
          2. Invincible ignorance saving anyone
          3. See Limbo as theological doctrine
          4. Many believe God personally arranges baptisms and conversions
          5. Believe they have been given special grace by God to see the corruption
          6. Believe in futurist apocalyptic Revelation interpretations and see the Vatican as the prostitute of Babylon and return of Pagan Rome.
          7. Reject the big bang and evolution. Young Earth creationism is common.
          8. Many God double predestines people to heaven which is why they reject invincible ignorance as a concept. Some say God makes people born into the right religion as showing favor and those born into other religions who don't convert are not given the grace to believe. Others may disagree.
          9. Believe God puts wicked people and heretics into power to punish people.
          10. Believe they are Israel and God's chosen people.
          11. Some Sedes believe Mary is mediatrix some believe she is not even a lesser co-redeemer.
          12. Some hold you can't trust the saints the Vatican declares because you don't know if they're in hell or not and could be contacting demons. Others don't hold this position.

      >head coverings
The bible literally says that a woman's long hair is an acceptable headcovering and THIS is the basis why men shouldn't have long hair because it's the same thing as them wearing a headcovering
      Otherwise it's okay

How do you know it's hair and not a head covering for covering the hair?

4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered

        >How do you know it's hair and not a head covering for covering the hair?
Because that's literally what the scripture you posted says? It goes like this
Men = no covering, short hair
Women = long hair OR headcovering
Though she is also free to wear a covering even with long hair.

Women and men should dress at least relatively modestly, and it was a mistake to discard the practice of headwear for women altogether. Anything else is superfluous. The Scriptures do not require a suit or formal wear in general, there is just the implication that at least modesty is encouraged, whatever that may be for a culture.

    >women must cover their head
    >men should wear suits but no jeans, sports logos, or casual attire

Too strict for me but it’s nice what they wear, they look very nice. I prefer a church that allows women to show their legs if they want, and men to wear blue jeans and dress shirt attire if they want. Because I would like to see people wearing this stuff even with those more relaxed rules. I just don’t like people that wear what they wear from home. Pic related. The hood would be too much but this outfit is considered a Dress Clothes tier so it would qualify in most American churches.

That’s not a good idea. No, I don’t like churches that drink cokes during the sermon and have rock and roll. That’s not church. That is an attack on the church.
When I was a kid, I used to only wear adidas all the time. Shoes, shorts, shirts, and socks. But for church I would put on some blue jeans and a dress shirt and wear Sunday shoes.

More extensive head coverings on the women would be desirable (not hijabs, but something more...encompassing than just a cloth draped over the head imo), although anything approaching modesty in modern women is a big ask so baby steps.

is it really modest to cover your head as a woman, I mean sure some women could use a little modesty for sure, but I wouldn't consider anything from a hat to a niqab to even be on the modesty scale.

No, the Lord’s Supper has biblical rules that any who are not worthy (meaning unsaved) should not take it. It also folllows that any who take it should be well known to the local church already. And if they take it often, then they should have been baptised already, since they insist upon retaking it with the congregation.
The Eucharist is Catholic and doesn’t care about biblical instructions or it’s warnings.

      2 Corinthians 5:1-5
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

There is short dresses so you can see the ankles and there is long dresses that covers their feet up, And then there is “short short” which is where that crosses into showing off too much for it to be church.

Long hair on women is enough for a qualification for covering their head also.

Normally, posters on 4chin are not even doing what they are supposed to be doing. Cows will graze, sheep and goats will eat the grass, and so most people are worse than goats, sadly, because they can’t even do what they supposed to be doing, while goats will at least just go straight back to grazing the weeds and stuff. They are amazingly normal like that. But only on the internet will you find the entire world in chaos.
So what a good thread this has been. Thank God.

I mean, Christ and his disciples were poor itinerant religious fellows who traveled from town to town and preached to the humble. Any church with a dress code more stringent that 'literally just rags' is, and this is just a personal feeling, kind of missing the point of a lot of what being a Christian (let alone a Catholic) is meant to be.

What would you say to the argument that a woman wearing pants to church is modernism and they're against modernism?

        Anonymous

does god care if she wears modest womens' pants and a modest shirt? I doubt it. As one anon itt said, it's pure larp, and I would add pretension, to act scandalized by it, as if it's the 19th century or something.

In our culture it's considered perfectly trad and modest for a woman to wear pants. Women wear pants in many traditional cultures around the world too.

Now that I think about it, as adherents to a universal, proselytizing world religion they have no business insisting on western formal clothing either. If I showed up in a formal silk hanfu, that's much more formal than a jacket and tie. But they wouldn't let me in because it's not le based trad west? Pretentious and larpy

PS. I used to attend an FSSP parish when I lived in taiwan. Half of the people wore jackets and ties, the other half wore formal tangzhuang, some even wore hanfu. No need to be Western to be Catholic. Even if formal clothing is the rule, why the frick would you insist exclusively on formal WESTERN clothes?

            China, not India.

Doesn't matter even a little bit. Christians of every culture are welcome in God's home, especially in the Catholic church. what are you, some kind of ethnophyletist?

If I wore a jacket and tie to a traditional latin mass in China (or India) they woudn't kick me out. No reason to insist on Western formal wear over any other culture's. Picrel: the equivalent of a jacket and tie in the Gwich'in culture of Alaska. Equal in formality, if not much more so.

then again, I shouldn't expect basic logical reasoning from Sedevacantists.

their goal should be to worship God. Formal clothes can be a part of that, but you can't place Western culture in a position of superiority to everyone else's
