>I have no idea what a Mondeo is
Boring Euro car made by Ford Europe to compete with the Vauxhall Vectra. Burgers would get the 4th generation as the Ford Fusion.
lol, wonder how much Ford paid for that considering they also threw in the S-Type behind him when he's tying his shoe up. Sony also making sure to get there bit in with the phone never mind being one of the production companies and the distributor behind Casino Royale.
Ford owned Jag/LR/Aston Martin at the time. So with the Aston Martin link they decided to throw Bond in a Mondeo to sell more cars. "Bond drives one, you can too". I guess hoping the Bond effect did the same for Ford that it did for Rolex submariners.
The Mondeo didn't use a Jag V6. The 1st gen Mondeo used the 2.5 Duratec V6 and the 2nd gen Mondeo used the 3.0 Duratec V6. The Duratec was developed by Ford and Porsche. The Duratec V6 found its way into Jags at the time as Jaguar was under Ford ownership then. Similarly the Volvo modular found its way into Fords as they were also owned by Ford at the same time (most notably the Ford Focus ST and RS).
The Barra, and in particular the last turbo iterations, are probably one of greatest inline six engines ever produced for a family road going car. It's an absolute beast of an engine and I'm sad we didn't get it in the UK. But with emissions tax bullshit and the price of insurance it would have made just as much sense to buy a slightly used Jag XJR (6 or 8) or an M5 or RS6. Even Holden didn't import too many cars into the UK for that reason. We got a limited number of V8 Monaro's and Commodores.
>The Duratec was developed by Ford and Porsche
Developed by Porsche and Cosworth. Ford bought it. The AJV6 used in the X-Type is based on the Duratec but with some Jaguar tweaks. The AJV8 was a Jaguar development prior to Ford's ownership. The V8 was primarily used in Jags, Land Rovers and Astons, but saw American use in the Thunderbird and Lincoln LS. The AJ126 is a variant of the AJV8 with cylinders blanked off and the bore reduced. Same block. Used in the F-Type V6.
>he doesn't upgrade the caps on all his consumer electronics by default
ngmi tbh, companies always cheap out on caps so its the best bang for buck mod on literally anything electronic
that's an accurate description. i still have one. i'm pretty sure the ford mondeo is much quieter when you operate it. my optiplex used to sound like a jet engine at times.
The ST220 wasn't a race winner. The Ford Mondeo only won the BTCC once, in 2000 and Ford wouldn't win another BTCC until this year with the Focus ST. The Mondeo that won the BTCC was developed by Prodrive (most famous for producing the Subaru that McRae raced in) and used a racing built 2 litre V6 to meet with regulations. Not the 2.5 or 3.0 in the road going cars.
That was the "Super touring" era (early 90s to early 00s) in the UK, when manufacturers where throwing F1 levels of money at race teams.

The cars were absolutely mental. And not only won the championship in 2000, but nabbed 2nd and 3rd too. The rule change to reduce costs then killed off the Super Touring age. I remember when Audi turned up in I think it was 96 (their debut year), with the A4 Quattro and absolutely demolished the BTCC, and every other touring car championship across Europe that year. I think AWD cars were banned the following year or were hit with weight penalties and finally banned in 98... across Europe, not just the BTCC.
I have no idea what a Mondeo is but that was my desktop at work for a few years
>I have no idea what a Mondeo
i used to have one, it was so good. Could still reach 230km/h even completely full and was very easy to work on

And Lincoln MKZ and Continental.
Here is what a Mondeo man looked like in the late 90s
that Mondeo?

And the Range Rover. Part of JLR, which they also owned.
14 million according to a quick google and reports of the time.
BMW paid 80 million to supply Bond with cars over three movies. The next film he was back in an Aston after Ford paid 100 million.

ST200 estate. Can't be many of those left considering very few were built in the first place.
Wannabe focus but worse.

Does it have a JAGUAR V6? Thought not.

i always wanted the XR5 Turbo Mondeo until i learnt it was FWD and realised as an adult on woman drive FWD cars and I moved on and got a real car
are these optiplexes modifiable and upgradeable?
more like the miata.
Dell Optiplex is very very very nice and verry very very economical.
Mondeo is elegant and performing yet modest but can win races with their most performing cars like st220 or jagyar xtype which is mondeo.
Mondeo is intel core i5 with amd gpu
