I was obsessed with lamf for a while, but it's not really punk it's rock n roll. Songs about Goin' Steady or doin the mashed potata, Johnny Thunders was thinking backwards instead of forwards, and couldn't write about anything that had a punk edge to it.
Fuck you both.
The only thing worse than Television was Suicide.
Yeah, that's right. I said it.
Both Television and Suicide both sucked!
They were the worst thing to happen to the New York music scene in 1976.
Fucking artsy fartsy pretentious bullshit!
And Television were second rate VU rip off! Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd weren't fit to lick Lou Reed's asshole!
Now go end it all, the pair of you!
You can always tell who's a cunt when they say Television is their favorite band. Richard Hell was in Television, and his first album btfo Marquee Moon. Television was a band for arty wankers that shouldn't have even played guitars and shit. Also why aren't the Buzzcocks on OP's list instead of Television? They were actually punk, and really great too.
Probably because The Buzzcock's first album didn't come out until 1978, even though Spiral Scratch should be there since it came out in 77 and they were a much better band with Howard Devoto as their singer. Listen to Spiral Scratch, and the Time's Up album, and you'll understand why The Buzzcocks were considered a punk band. They were still a good band with Pete Shelley, don't get me wrong, but they most certainly took a more pop direction, like a harder edged XTC, and I mean that as a compliment since I like both bands equally.
cool rec man, I'm going to check that out now. I love the pop-era of the Buzzcocks, they were more innovative than the Ramones basic chainsaw chording and rarely doing tempo changes during songs. thanks bruv
As the rare person on this board who's listened to them all
Marquee Moon > The Clash > Damned Damned Damned > Never Mind the Bollocks > Rocket to Russia > Pink Fag > I'm Stranded > Blank Generation > Young, Loud & Snotty
Retards saying Pink Flag while Marquee Moon is right to the side.
... You can like the record but Marquee Moon obviously accomplished all their goals and much cohesively >Not punk
Other group retards >reddit space
Anyway, if you want a more straight away punk record choose Never Mind The Bullocks
Never Mind the Bollocks

Kill yourself pleb
marquee moon
Rocket to Russia
Bollocks 4sho
damn what a cool time to be alive, imagine theres this new genre thats emerged and all these cool albums just keep coming out
pink flag also marquee moon isn't punk
Both correct.
virgins
for me it's nirvana - bleach
As the rare person on this board who's listened to them all
Marquee Moon > The Clash > Damned Damned Damned > Never Mind the Bollocks > Rocket to Russia > Pink Fag > I'm Stranded > Blank Generation > Young, Loud & Snotty
Shit fucking list
Pink flag >barely>rocket to russia>moon even tho it sounds nothing like the rest of these albums
=clash>spurts>>>the other dead boys album is much better
obviously wire
MX-80 Sound - Hard Attack
The one made by black people.
Marquee Moon, followed by Rocket to Russia, as per Sgarubi
pink flag easily
Pink Flag is miles ahead of everything else. They anticipated post-punk and hardcore on the same record.
saints are underrated though
suicide
Never Mind the Bollocks is the only answer, Television, Patti Smith, and all the art school fags at the CBGB were not punk
now I realise why it's so good
pink flag because its barely punk. and MM isn't punk at all

Germs
Wire > Sex Pistols > Television > Damned > Clash > Saints > Dead Boys > Richard Hell > Ramones
The Sex Pistols. The rest is irrelevant
>pink flag
fuck, never even heard of this. this is pretty based.
at least 3-4 of them are pretty solid, but at the end of the day i'm going with Never Mind the Bollocks. also Marquee Moon is not punk
I love the Damned but that first Ramones album is all killer no filler. Final answer Ramones(for 77')
and...the Misfits 1978 album Static Age, Bad Brains 1981 and 1982's Misfit album Walk Among Us shadow and dwarf all of pic related.
The Damned studio sound wasn't loose enough imo. Live these songs sound so much better, as do Machine Gun Etiquitte and Music for Pleasure.
>no Talking Heads
they weren't punk. should blondie be considered punk too just because they were different?
Blondie should be considered because she is very sexy woman with big bobs yes.
Bollocks
talking heads 77
