Makita Red is better than Milwaukee. Makita's international brand is kind of meh.

      Makita is a good middle-ground price-performance.
But individual tool-quality depends on the place of manufacture, Japanese Makita is best, but they also have plants in Germany, UK, Romania and China (for the cheap stuff).
Ironically it's easier to find Makita made in Germany than Bosh made in Germany.

I have all sorts of milwaukee and dewalt tools, and both are good. Sometimes, dewalt stuff is better than milwaukee and vice versa. I've had good experiences with hilti, but i dont own them.
Buy into a couple of different battery systems and look up specific tool reviews so you have flexibility.

hilti if you got a business, otherwise makita.
      Pic related.
      >its a breakdown of tool company ownership.
Notice how almost everything you encounter is cheap chinese dogshit? Its because chingping makes your shit in some beat to fuck factory in guangzhu using the shittiest materials possible with zero quality control.
Makita is owned by makita, and their quality control is reflected in that.

Nothing retard. You make it the second you stop coveting material shit and obsessing over your fee fees and dopamine rushes. Buy what you need strictly and blow the rest on epherma, its all epherma anyways. Anything built to last involved a ton of poison and chaos a dark magic in its creation. Nowadays everything is garbage designed to spy on you. Miluwakee is chink shit now anyways retard. Its ALL chink shit, you fucking retard. If you must buy shit to feel good nothing you find will be a name to flex to plebs you dumb nagger. If a name is a name brand its going to be chink shit. Go on etsy and find hand crafted artesnal everything. Again. Miluwakee is chink shit. How fucking dumb and conSOOOOMption obsessed are you really?

You don't have the right to use binos for "tactical" purposes in france. But you have the right to hunt with thermals and infrared scopes. If only you knew how cucked our laws are.

I work in the trades. I've seen tradesmen use DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita most commonly. You'll be fine with any of those.
You don't get that much more value for buying the high quality, top-of-the-line stuff. As long as you aren't buying absolute bottom-tier garbage, most midrange or cheap products will do the trick.

DeWalt is solid. Stay the fuck away from craftsmen, they used to be good but something happened in the last 10 years and now it is total and complete shit.

Most things that are made of metal, glass, or pottery can last a lifetime, and therefore it's reasonable to spend extra on those to get top quality. Tools, cookware, flatware, tableware, drinkware, exercise equipment (weights).

"BIFL" books are something I have learned about recently. Sewn-bound books with archival quality paper and ink can survive a lifetime of regular reading, whereas glue-bound books will fall apart. Folio Society is a publisher known for extremely high quality production.

Any type of textiles are prone to wear and degradation over the years, though some will be better than others and it depends on the item. High quality leathers like Saddleback etc will last a very very long time if cared for. Items that get relatively little abrasive wear, like a Tilley hat, can last a lifetime. For most other clothing I think quality is more about comfort and fit rather than durability, but it depends how you use the product. Socks, underwear, pants and shirts tend to wear out due to abrasion. Cold weather jackets can be made durable enough to last pretty much forever.

String instruments can last a lifetime with maintenance: guitars, violins, etc.

Certain board games like chess, checkers, go, will never wear out.

Solid wood furniture, if properly crafted/joined, will last multiple generations (tables, chests, cabinets, dressers).

Quality wool blankets can last decades if reasonably cared for.

      Sunglasses.

Some electronics (mostly without moving parts) can last decades with minimal or no maintenance and never become obsolete due to their function. Eg. [guitar] amplifiers, speakers, watches, clocks.

Many types of art (paintings, sculptures, even quality prints) are BIFL.

The Ruger SR1911 .45 caliber pistol is a lot of gun for the money, based on a successful 110 year old design, easy to get replacement parts, accurate enough for all but competitive shooters. With proper care it will be functional for a hundred years or longer.

There is nothing that is buy-it-for-life.
Quit with the materialistic aspirations. This is just consumerism. Your aspirations for after making it should be interpersonal.
If you really make it, then tool brands are irrelevant. Unless you’re a tradie, you can buy the junk at Harbor Freight and you are unlikely to notice a difference. Real tools, like Delta woodworking machinery, are things that you will want for yourself and that will go to the estate sale for $300 when you die because your kids won’t have the same interests that you do. Buy what you want and can afford now. The items that survive the trip to “making it” are the ones you should get others of after you make it.
    t. Guy who hasn’t exactly “made it,” but has multiple homes and could write a check for another one. I have a Chinese knockoff Bridgeport plus a lathe and the rest of my tools are HF and Ryobi. The wife will send it all to the landfill when I die.

Loake or other British made brand Goodyear welted shoes

A Rolex, AP, Richard Mille or other privately owned watch company that is well made and has artificially limited supply in order to protect value

Japanese car for reliability I have Mitsubishi outlander and it’s reliable af but boring tho

Top spec smartphone, laptop and computer as you spend most your life on them so they are a good investment

Do up your house nicely, nice remodelled kitchen with all the shit laid out, boiling water taps etc. bathroom with remote controlled underfloor heating so you wake up and the room is already hot before you get out of bed

Good quality holidays, get to go actually do something cool or go somewhere interesting in luxury rather than go to your stereotypical poor people destinations that everyone goes

I'm still on the fence on Japanese cars. Mostly stopped being built IN Japan or offshore with their standards. Every company just purchases parts from China, ships and assembles them in other 3rd world countries and sell it to mutts x3 the cost.

Either buy pre-2000 or just bite chink dick with Chinese owned "1st world" brands.

    What's LULZ take on this?
