while python is easy to start with it's not the easiest to master. a lot of people have a hard time with more advanced python, the data model, metaprogramming etc.
>while python is easy to start with it's not the easiest to master.
like compared to a Pascal or most basics (VN.net does not count). those would be slightly harder to start with than Python but way easier to master, far simpler languages with less expressiveness.
work is mostly Python with some C, but i often have to do low-level debugging
leisure is mostly Python and rust and c++
despite not knowing how to debug things i somehow ended up being the "debugging wizard" of the team. when someone has an obscure problem they usually go at it for a few days and then ask me with the expectation that i can tell them what's wrong just from a problem description or a brief look. somehow that's true more often than not idk
rust followed by scheme
if it weren't for TDS and terrible marketing it would be the definitive LULZ language, it filters retards because of the borrow checker and it's bringing back a lot of old but good stuff we lost over time >no OOP >no null anything outside of unsafe null pointers >hygienic macros operating on AST >incredibly good lifetime / ownership validation
every time I hear the argument that muh unsafe means everything is unsafe I want to shoot myself in the head
i used to be a c# tranny but im actually getting stockholm syndromed on python. haskell wasn't my thing but semi-functional programming is comfy? miss me with all the c/c++ boomer shit though, memory management is for nerds
Arduino. So basically c++ but not quite. 0W8GYS
if everyone who did computer science was sent on a big rocket ship into the sun, society would immediately be so much better

C, C++, and C# They are all comfy; languages that don't start with C aren't even considered.

Go for large projects (work, mostly), C++ for fun
C if you're smart, python if you're not, golang if you just want a job
Learning Scheme.
