A simple and repetitive rhythm and/or melody. Usually the chorus or part of the chorus that in a "good" pop song is repeated enough on a single listen that it gets stuck in your head and you're already enjoying the hook on first listen. Enjoying it in this case just means you've already wrapped your brain around it and know what to expect. We love hearing what we expect and are familiar with. A lot of pop songs have multiple hooks and they're generally simpler than they used to be. A lot of songs share hooks and that makes them really accessible. Think of the hi hats in trap or the 4 on the floor beats of dance music.
Anything is a hook if you listen to it enough and a great song has multiple levels of hooks so that more and more unfold as you listen to it more. When people say pop or rap music is disposable it's usually because most or all of their hooks are felt on the first few listens and there's nothing more to unfold so you'll get bored of the song eventually unless there are other things you love about it, voice, lyrics, aesthetic etc.
I think it's the cool part of a song that makes you keep from skipping it because you want to hear that cool part come around again.
I hate motley crue and the part isn't good enough to save the song from skipping, but i would say the way vince sings 'my heart' the second time in the verse of 'kick start my heart' in scary voice is sort of a hook.
but usually hook just means basically the chorus i think.
