Theres answers all over the place, anon, its up to you to pick one.

Scientific materialist say after you die it ends your conscious existence.

Abrahamics say you live on forever in a perfect world if you accept God and repent for your sins against him.

The dharmics say you get reincarnated or reach some form of enlightment.

Many indigenous tribes say you get reunited with your ancestors and live happily ever after.

    There is no definitive answer.

Looks like majority of the anons think it's reincarnation

      >The dharmics say you get reincarnated or reach some form of enlightment.

      1. Heaven
      2. Hell
      3. Limbo
      4. Reincarnation
      5. Eternal Recurrence
      6. Ghost
      7. Void/Annihilation
These are the only possible options. It all boils down to either eternal consciousness or eternal unconsciousness, there is no middle ground. Which sounds the worst to you?

      >4. Reincarnation

Reincarnation through infinite versions of reality. We are living in a loop. We can be reincarnated in the future or the past, on another planet that is a different version of Earth. Everything is possible.

      >Reincarnation through infinite versions of reality. We are living in a loop. We can be reincarnated in the future or the past,

The default view seems to be reincarnation. Like from European pagans, to chinks, to red injun animists, to jungle naggers. Semites believed you go to a black pit (the Sumerian afterlife about going into a miserable underworld came from the Akkadians, we don't know what the actual Sumerians before the Semitic Akkadians took over believed) and that was such a godawful concept to believe the Semitic religion concocted one mixing the two. Death is the end, but the end is jerking off Yahweh all day forever instead of going into a black pit. My money is on reincarnation.

      >The default view seems to be reincarnation.

You reincaranate, anon. You are a soul / energy being . Your body is your suit that you can change.

He normally doesn't . We are eternal basically, easily old souls here million+ years old.
Even if you nuke a planet.... planet survives, cleans up 10,000 years go buy, planet is cleaned up, animals reappear , reincarnation restarts. Then humans reappear.

You know what I just realized from your answer, is that in a way we do get reincarnated. Our body and bones feed the Earth and get recycled. Therefore we do in part consist of prior people's and prior animals. The "soul" I think is the same as one's thoughts and memories, and resides in the brain; I think it is only passed on in the form of the impact you have on those when you are alive, including the ripples of thought and feeling and intellectual remnants, that you leave behind.

      > Assuming that knowledge from a previous realm or life would be retained in this life

It's unrealistic to think that we'd retain memories or knowledge from a different realm or a past life. Our brains and experiences are bound to the life we're living now. It's like expecting to remember a book you've never read. Each life, if other realms or lives exist, would have its own set of experiences and memories, independent of others. Just because we don't remember something from before we were born doesn't mean nothing existed before then. It's more about the limitations of our current existence and memory.

Imagine you die and are reborn as a helpless being, in a third world, or a cow simply born to give birth as many times as possible and then be slaughtered. And then the next life, you're back on LULZ and Vidya.

If this was how it worked, alternating each life, then you'd have a chance every other life to change the world into one with less suffering for other lives.... And you may be able to save yourself on the next round.

You keep saying "you" as if the you that is experiencing reality right now will somehow transfer to a cow consciousness. Negative, ghostrider. You cease to exist. YOU that is the perception of the current reality in this slice of time is nothing but a fragment in the grand scheme of the universe. It's not a truman show episode. You're literally gone. You can't even fathom that but it's like it was before you were born. You don't remember that because YOU didn't exist. You will NEVER exist the way you do NOW.

The only reasonable explanation I've found is that we exist eternally trapped in this loop of YOU. Next time or perhaps this is the 100th time, you will do the same thing. Write these same words and you won't even know, except.. this time maybe you're starting to wake up. Maybe you're realizing you've done this before. Now shit gets really trippy. Most people don't even see the path that's laid out before them and if they do, they do not act on it and simply shout "coincidence"!

          Wake up.

Nothing ceases to exist, its simply repurposed, any science observer knows this and quantum theory shows along with new experiments that pocket dimensions do not have the laws of physics we measured within this reality. Quantum particles "teleport" because the reality they disappear to or entangle with is beyond the time perception and measurability of this dimension. When they reappear there is some signal loss and they readjust with the cosmic info flow like a TCP packet.

YOU will never live THIS life again. You might live this life again without your current spiritual or ethereal fingerprint. Next time we write to each other, you'll be a little different and so will I. Unless you're just an NPC and you can't even awaken to become the Übermensch.

Your consciousness sheds its limitations and expands back into God/the All mind. Being God alone in the void is boring, which is why you create dream worlds like this one to live as a limited avatar. Creation is God/you exorcising his/your boredom.

I think mummification came along because they worshiped the person instead of the soul and or god(s)

But I think even in Egypt the idea was that the body was there for the soul to use in the afterlife. The body and soul didn't get to the afterlife at the same time.
In Peru or whatever a lot of the mummies are by accident but the person was still just an idol. Instead of some soul transfer solution.

christians unironically believe all of our genetic ancestors prior to 1700 earliest 1000 for most are burning in hell in eternal torture for simply being born non-israelites, because salvation for us only comes from christ,

that means the people behind Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Persia, Aryan India and Japanese even today for example are burning/going to burn in hell in worst torture for all of eternity, while degenerate money herders in the bible are living their best afterlife ever, simply out of blood,

If your body gets hurt enough, your brain just kind of turns off pain and starts the self destruct sequence. Then you have a DMT trip, which of anyone has done before, feels initially like you are rising up into some new area. The trip really depends on how much unconscious guilt you have.

But basically, every nde can be ruled out as an intense and naturally occurring DMT trip.

What's the longest someone has been dead for, and then brought back?? DMT trips are very short, although they distort your perception of time and can feel like an eternity. Your brain releases much more than you would do on a normal dose though when you are dying.

I'd spend some time on hospice nurse forums. There was a thread I found on one where they were all talking about a whooshing feeling someone died, and many atheists seeing angels as they died, or even weeks before they passed....

It’s a transceiver. Your soul never existed here in the first place, your body is a vessel being remotely controlled by “the real you” in a different place. It’s akin to being in a coma here, and waking up in a new body in your “dreams”

The Egyptians destroyed the brain as part of their embalming process. I believe it was thought that you don't want your consciousness to slowly seep into the afterlife, it may become separated. You wanna blow it all into the next realm all at once so it retains as much of its form as possible. A lot of people who are said to remember their past lives, died in horrific accidents that may have destroyed the brain. This is why they retained all or most of their previous thoughts.

    >What happens after you die?
Nothing. You just sleep forever. It's exactly like how it was before you were born. You didn't exist 13.7 billion years, and then you did. And now you're here, playing video games and jerking off in your apartment by yourself instead of exploring and seeing the world, and living to the best of your ability. One day you'll be old and no longer able to travel, and you'll spend your dwindling years watching TV and eating at restaurants, trying to find meaning in that. Finally, you'll end up in hospice on a vent waiting for the day to come when your heart simply gives out, hoping that you don't shit yourself in pain on the way towards oblivion. After that, you go back to sleep. Forever. And none of it really meant anything. That's the scariest part about death, your consciousness simply dissolves and it's like you were never here. Existing is therefore pretty much a curse. You're sentient just long enough to realize how fleeting it is.

Pretty much everything and anyone who says otherwise is coping.

Counterpoint: if we do cease to exist, then we won the universe lottery by being allowed to exist for this brief period of time. Some people may have suffered a great deal, but in that case death would be a release for them. Others who have enjoyed their lives can die with the accomplishment of having gotten a chance to exist. Those who are morally inclined to justice can rest easy knowing that the bad people on this planet can't take their wealth with them, and they will fail in their attempts at finding immortality. They shall rest in the grave with those whom they have hurt.

Death is the great equalizer, for all the good and bad that it implies. But I'm a christian, so I believe in something good waiting for us, so I'm covered either way. Christ is king, and death to Israel.

What happens after you blink? What happens after you age 2 years? And 50 years?
The 'you' that you are now is constantly transformative. There is a core, at least for those of us who can identify a constant identity throughout our lives (which is by no means everyone). But the core doesn't reside in the body, it resonates from the universe and gains and loses extremities over time.
    >You

you literally are atoms in your brain: experiencing them is experiencing the physical information that they literally are.

if you were to split it in half, you'd have two beings with living experiences, both of them used to be the singular you, but both are now separate minds. which one is you? nothing would experience both minds at the same time, and the two new minds would be completely different.

also, why do you only experience your own brain's information, not anyone else's?

the answer to both: you are only one of the atoms, and atoms in the brain join together to all experience the same information because of some shit the brain does.

whatever happens to that atom, is what you'll experience and be in the future, like now.

these are literally the only two possibilities and you're a retard if you disagree

The fact no one knows is a good data point in itself. I believe in the ascension matrix trap ideology of Gnosticism or something similar. Likely, before us many generations ago we were one being. Then, we split into these individual fragments all making up the human species. By ourselves though, we are nothing special or everything special about this place called the universe. I think life is an adventure to master this very question. If you do, you get to leave this trap and "ascend". It is a test precisely because nobody else can help you. You might be given 8 years, or 95 years. Some realize it sooner, some never. Stop looking for objective truth out there on this topic. It's found within.

      >you are only one of the atoms
you arent an atom, what are elements and atoms made of? what holds them together? the answer is electromagnetic fields and electric current.
literally everything is electric and the deeper you dig into this the more this begins to resemble something that looks more like a computer.
your body is just a vessel held together by electromagnetic fields.
if the vessel breaks the energy isnt destroyed as energy cant be destroyed only transformed.
if it can transform into a body why wouldnt it be able to do it again?

      >you literally are atoms in your brain
Wrong. Nobel prize winner Sir Roger Penrose said consciousness is not computable. Consciousness is not made from atoms. If that were true, then you could make digital consciousness. You can make mechanical computers so it should be possible to make mechanical consciousness. That is not possible.
The jump from the matter into consciousness is kind of impossible.

Yeah we're in agreement. I think what's so scary about death to so many is it requires an extremely open-mind. Like, you literally cannot speculate further but you feel like it's over for you--you in the current configuration and perception. So many people shy away from the experience or potential awakening in the death scenario. For fuck's sake, there's a death cult on this planet precisely because old fuckers don't want to give up their memories and power.

But i hope its just lights out and finito. We will see... I hope sleep is the best!

I’ve always had a problem with conceptualizing death as a human because the problem with materialists is their temporal perspective on time. If the brain is dead, how can it perceive the moment it dies? How can it perceive time up until that point? I would think that’s the point, that time stops and you go into some sort of perceptual limbo because your brain cannot perceive its own death. The death comes after everything else.

Materialists have no answer for this, the arguement and thinking are literally facts. To everyone else you’ll just die. But from the perspective of the person dying I’m not sure it will ever occur to them. Objectively death comes immediately to anyone paying attention to them. But what they see is something else entirely. To which regardless of what the live world may see, will occur to them all inevitably. So their collective biased interpretations are actually irrelative to the eventual status they themselves will find themselves in.

No one here can prove anything without going into religion. So let's start off with what we can hypothesize for sure. The state or condition of nothingness doesn't exist. If it did then we wouldn't be here, also you need an observer to prove nothing actually exists. So if we start off with that foundation, then at some point in the future long after your death you will experience some sort of conscious thought. Here i'm going to speculate it's probably not your present conscioussness, no memories, but some "feeling". Just as a Bug can have experiences but no high level conscious.

Your energy changes, from human to other.

Physics says: Each reaction creates a counter-reaction; energy never leaves the universe it simply changes forms.

I cannot tell you what happens after I die, but I would think that our simple egos (senses of self) expire leaving only the good that we were able to manifest, and letting the rest burn away like impurities -- as gold is refined. Either way, love God.

No, you have no proof of YOUR conscious perception and attention being actuated at a different point in time past your death, however different or similar that experience might be. The only reasonable argument that you could divorce yourself from your body and a dualist approach would have any merit is if we truly are in a sub-routine below a higher process. There is no reason to believe that though. I prefer a more dual-aspect approach. Psychology and physiology.

            Ah , you do.
Part of the game on this planet is you forget what was in the past.
Your Subconsious is still recording everything . And your energy being / Soul ie actual you, also remembers everything.
But you accept law of confusion and agree as part of the game on this planet at this time that we don't remember past lives.

But there are people here who claim they remember them. You can also talk to yourself and ask subconscious and your soul questions and get answers.

You are not in your brain.
Your brain is mass scanning environment around you. It is a massive high end radar. And your Subconscious records everything you see , feel, touch, hear , etc.
You are a Soul / energy being. You aren't really your brain or in your brain. It's just a radar and motherboard with a cpu of your body. But the operator - you - is a guy sitting in a chair with a keyboard and a mouse.

Even atheists can't explain why the brain. Has, what they would describe as, coping mechanisms for dieing.

I stared up at the milky way galaxy and It occured to me that the place I was before I was born gave rise to my consciousness, so if you do in fact go back to the "place before you're born" you'll probably just be born again in an infinite loop.
