What does gender even mean for creatures that don't reproduce and probably lack chromosomes?

Don't even speculate on something so stupid. That is ridiculously unimportant.
For the record, angels are often referred to in the masculine tense and often appeared as men.
Biblical descriptions of angels, archangels, cherubs, seraphs get pretty wild to our thinking.

But you shouldn't ever guess, don't ever assume and you should NEVER apply THE MESSAGE of woke nonsense to them.
Honestly, just don't ask something as stupid as their gender. It's none of your business. They will never be interested in comparing underwear.

If you ever meet one, or speak to one, let them identify themselves, just listen to what they say and be respectful about it.
Answer whatever questions they ask honestly and be prepared to do as God directed.
Simply for doubting their words or laughing in astonishment at what they say could get you punished for simply offending them.

[p.s. angels that serve God (unlike demons) will never require you to do something sinful or lawless. You had better doubt if an "angel" wants you to break the law because that is not an angel.]

sounds pretty trans affirming to me
it's none of your business what's in an angel's pants. Listen to and respect their pronoun preference.

What if the law requires you to do something that's sinful (at least according to your religion/denomination)?

      They were women

All angels are male. Women were invented with Eve.

funny how female angels not existing is used as evidence for female angels existing in Abrahamic theology.

אופן ,כרוב ,שרף are all masculine words too. I'm sorry bro but there's no such thing as a female angel.

It's a masculine noun, yes, but so is עץ or נהר. Everything is either a masculine or feminine noun in Hebrew.

every scholar of Hebrew would tell you that "son of God" means angels

that's how it was translated in the Septuagint.
Sons of God literally means the sons of God.
It's used in Ugarit to refer to all of the gods. Here it's clearly referring to the male gods.

            >that's how it was translated in the Septuagint.
you use classical translation of a text to understand ancient meaning of a text?
            >this only refers to male gods
Well, in sense Angels have divine power as they are literally called "el" many times in Bible. They are messengers of powers of Divine. But still this is not an evidence that female "daughters of God" exists.

I'm saying you're using a much later understanding of the text. Sons of God means Sons of God. It's the same term used to refer to all the gods in ugaritic. Genesis is talking about lesser gods than Elohim mating with humans, not "angels".

The only way sex politics makes any sense if you acknowledge that there is no such thing as homosexuals. Sex is for reproduction and anything beyond that is a spectrum of kink or fetish that says more about the mental health of someone. Historically related because this is how the ancients understood it, and why instances of what we would call lgtb today was MUCH lower then than today.

So kissing is a kink? Are you mentally ill if you kiss and make-out with your partner?

And yet they did make laws against homosexual activity- no one would make laws against things that never happened in the first place. That said, yeah, a less accepting environment can certainly lead people to not act on such attractions, or sometimes not even realize they're there if they're not strong.

Fun fact, while in English we refer to pointless arcane debates as "arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin", the equivalent expression in Spanish (and some other Romance languages) is actually "discutir sobre el sexo de los ángeles", discussing the gender of angels.
