Part of your family vacation luggage, preferably the more lightweight stuff.

Maybe it also works for a couple other uses like carpooling to your skydiving, but you're somewhat restricted by the shape and your roof bars' weight rating.

You can fit a full MTB in the ski style ones like that. You should never be coming close to the roof bars weight limit because that weight is in the worst place possible.

This is even worse. Why not just use a bed cap?

Why not a cargo net? Or a non chucked 8ft bed?

8ft is too small, I use my 10ft bed in my single cab because it's a WORK TRUCK. Not like you millennial queers would know what work is though.

Nice larp. If you were doing actual work with your truck you would have a pintle hitch or gooseneck hitch and a tridem flatbed trailer. Even dedicated fleet work trucks don't use 8' beds.

I can only imagine its easier for storage when you dont need it, but I have a feeling its more expensive than a bed cap

Seems pretty dumb but not as dumb as putting a roof tent over the bed of your truck or Gladiator.

so it turned out to be totalling around $1000 for the rack alone, $200 for utility bars for different hauls, and the box is $500. I think modern bed caps are about that same price these days, under $2000?

Makes me think of those R/C stadium truck things

Kinda cool but prly not too functional in the real prostituteld cuz the bed doesn't connect to the cabin like an SUV

If that truck was like 20% smaller, I'd be all up in that.

          $4,500
seems like you sacrifice quite a bit of space vs a traditional bedcap
I guess it looks pretty unique though

        >$1700
That's way too expensive for what it is.

I don't understand how car drivers can run out of space in their trunk on their little vacations so they need an extra storage rack on the roof or on a hitch carrier. When you're staying in hotels or a condo or whatever you really don't need anything other than a few extra clothes to change into.

I just went on a camping trip on my dirt bike where I was able to carry all my shit for several days on the tail of my bike. Even then, like 80% of my stuff was camping related. If I was staying in a hotel/condo, I could go almost indefinitely with like half a backpack of stuff.

Why would you stay in a DNA and bodily fluid saturated hotel when you can go camping in one of the many beautiful places in North America? Sure a single male can fit their life supplies in a single bag but when you have a woman with you or a family things are different. You're going to run out of cargo room real quick and that's just normal glamping. There's 10x more shit when you get into outdoor sports and shit.

I have this model on the same car (not my car in pic). It fits mine and my missus clothes, the baby play mat, my air rifle, and the picnic blanket. Leaves the boot space free for bulkier stuff like the portacot and food

going into three rockies for skiing we put a couple snowboards, helmets, gloves, snowpants, boots e.t.c. Then once clothes and shit was out of the trunk, we put our boots and jackets in the car to warn up on the way to the hill.
