i worry less about mythical backdoor and more about microsoft just locking me out of my own drive after hearing all horror stories and their incompetency. there is no point in encrypting windows anyway, i have nothing but games there, not even pictures exist on windows

trusting microsoft with any form of security is like letting a blind retard drive a truck. seems hilarious at the time but you know that fat retard is going to cause some serious damage.

bitlocker (tm) protects your stuff from normies, not feds

      LUKS2 does both

prove that bitlocker doesn't protect against the feds
        do it

Full disk? Bitlocker. But the important stuff has multiple levels of encryption / virtual disks.

is "full disc" encryption actually full disk or just partition? does encrypting on MacOS affect my linux partition?

      Anonymous

Generally speaking, they're talking about encrypting the partitions, not some abstraction above a partition. Full disc encryption is more of a philosophy than a technology. "Everything is encrypted." (Except, usually, the boot)

There are some exceptions where the partitioning itself and the booting process itself is encrypted, but I don't think there's any real point.

          >one google maid
It's not the evilness of the maid I doubt; it's the competence. But I guess she could be just the human vector a penetrator is using.

    whats the point of encryption?

Nothing. I'm not sure about the benefits of using bitlocker on my windows pc

Also, I'm in the uk so it would be considered obstruction of justice anyways if I did something. I don't see the point but maybe someone can enlighten me

why do you retards immediately think about law enforcement as if you were hoarding CP
encryption on personal devices is the same as using locks on your home and in both cases feds will manage to enter if they want to

        Anonymous

Yeah but no one is going to steal my pc or hard drives so I don't really see a point in encrypting them

Because they are, anon. Why do you think a pack of subhuman nobodies like LULZ is terrified of feds kicking in their door? Between their utter inability to opsec and their "tastes", they're quite right to live every moment of the "lives" in screaming terror.
